Your addition of content to Disorganized schizophrenia
BlockArranger - The one who inspired me to start my antivandal journey |
|---|
|
Considering the unrelenting vandalism, where different accounts originating in Algeria have edited the article in question to include specific content, I would like to ask you about the content you added in this edit. This is because I don't fully agree that the source cited at the end of the big added paragraph actually supports the specific symptoms listed. Specifically, it concerns this sentence: "Examples in disorganized schizophrenia may include repetitive behavior such as stimming, grimacing, joking, mirror gazing, health complaining, utterance of profanity, exposing one's body in public spaces, inappropriate body contact, and urination outside socially acceptable areas (bathrooms)." Thank you for any input. BlockArranger (talk) 20:42, 1 January 2026 (UTC)

Proposal to include NYBOLE Rule 6000.13 regarding applicant misconduct
M4344459 - Discussing content improvement |
|---|
|
Hi, I noticed you reverted my recent edit regarding New York Board of Law Examiners (NYBOLE) Rule 6000.13. I understand the concern about talking about specific firms; my intention was actually to highlight the regulatory rules for bar applicants, as the article already mentions New York's educational requirements.
I’d like to propose re-adding a shortened version that focuses purely on the official board rule and citing the official NYBOLE website directly (https://www.nybarexam.org/Rules/Rules.htm#6000.13) rather than any secondary legal site. This seems relevant as 'Legal Ethics' begins at the admission stage. What do you think of this version? 'The New York Board of Law Examiners (NYBOLE) enforces ethical standards for applicants under Board Rule 6000.13, which allows for the nullification of exam results or disqualification for misconduct during the admission process. Neither
JayBeeEll - JBL's grammar class time! |
|---|
|
Minor grammatical point: your edit summary here is mistaken (though the edit is right). The reason "neither" takes a singular is that "neither" = "neither one", so with a verb it's "neither [one of them] is". When the subject is a collection of size zero, it takes a plural: "None are" (= "None [of them] are"). --JBL (talk) 17:35, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

Re: i'm starting to suspect that this article involves some UPE as well
See , , and User_talk:Tehila.stern. It appears to have been speedied for the COI, then undeleted because she's his daughter?? (Which doesn't preclude being paid, which appears to have been overlooked.) Seems it's been problematic from the start. ChompyTheGogoat (talk) 21:46, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
- To be a direct relative would immediately make it an unequivocal case of COI, in which cases users must not publish or edit the article themselves. At least, that's ENwiki's rules in 2026. It might have been different before, but. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk 09:18, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- But also, like, y'know, every Wikipedia articles aren't owned by its initial creators, and what it says and/or if it should even be deleted is up to the community.
- If someone is brave enough to put an article about themselves on Wikipedia, they should get ready for Wikipedian-levels of scrutiny. Sometimes not having an article here is a better option, public image-wise. But since the article is already here... 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk 09:24, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm just baffled that the entire basis for undeleting when it has already been declared problematic appears to have been the fact that she was his daughter instead of an employee (but actually both). And it's not remotely surprising that more would come along to keep trying to nudge it in their preferred direction, as per usual.
- Also, it's only 6 years old, so I doubt COI protocols have changed all that much. I'd be less surprised on a 20 year old article. I've seen some very interesting page histories from the early days. ChompyTheGogoat (talk) 14:48, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- I know. I chased all the related editors and their contribs and decided there's no more disruption in need for any actions anymore; the restorer would be sent straight to UPE/AIV with their 300 contribs and apparently unbelievable fluency in WikiNouns, but that editor stopped editing c. 2023, so.
- I've seen many suspicious accounts with 3-digit edit counts. I guess it's hard to get to 4 digits without getting too much attention than just starting a new one. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk 18:18, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- But the admin there had to do the actual restoration, right? It was a justified speedy, not a PROD, so I don't understand why they accepted that reasoning. Oh well.
- I've got another complicated situation I'll probably email you about later. Trying to figure out the best way to handle it. ChompyTheGogoat (talk) 18:31, 3 August 2026 (UTC)

Inappropriate collapsing of noticeboard report
This is inappropriate. These noticeboards exist for editors to get broader community input and there is some allowance, especially from inexperienced editors, for suboptimal reports. Further, bringing them to AIV was also inappropriate. Their editing in no way qualifies as vandalism. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 11:39, 14 August 2026 (UTC)

Hello
I wanted to let you know that your line "it's like having one's mind filled with static and white noise" resonated with me. Unfortunately, I find it very evocative, and a good expression of a feeling that I'm all too familiar with. The translated lyrics below it also struck a chord quite deeply with me.

August 2026
Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, which you did not do on User Talk:Ldm1954. I reverted the comment you added to a polite question from a novice user. It was highly inappropriate, bothe violating WP:5P4 and being very aggressive towards a novice editor, WP:DONTBITE Ldm1954 (talk) 12:22, 23 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Ldm1954, I re-read the comment made by @IrisChronomia, but I could not see how it violates WP:5P4 or WP:DONTBITE. First of all, the user in question has 800+ edits, so they are certainly not novice editor. Second, there was no insult, no personal attack, etc. On what basis do you claim these guidelines were violated? Furthermore, please take a look at IrisChronomia's user page. Morris (talk with this worm) 13:52, 23 August 2026 (UTC)
- I wouldn't consider it an aggressive reply either, but I'm confused by it as the original request seems perfectly polite to me, unless I'm missing something. ChompyTheGogoat (talk) 14:06, 23 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Morrisworm @ChompyTheGogoat, the original request was certainly polite. (I have been asked by the same user for advice once before, and he has always been polite and followed suggestions.) If you look at the thread you will see that the reply was interpreted by the requester as a PE suggestion. Why @IrisChronomia should feel it appropriate for him to respond to a request for advice on my talk page is odd.
- The number of edits does not matter that much. From my interactions I know that the requester is working his way through the issues of how to write (and how not to write) an article so in that respect is definitely a newbie. Ldm1954 (talk) 14:29, 23 August 2026 (UTC)
- I think that part was just a misunderstanding on their part, because the phrasing was pretty standard for a "We're all volunteers here; just be patient and someone will reply when they have time" sort of response to requests that are rude and demanding, which we see plenty of. IC stepped in for me in a similar situation with someone who was insisting their COI edit request needed my immediate attention. I guess they both misread the situation in this case. ChompyTheGogoat (talk) 14:50, 23 August 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry. I think I had been stalking some AfC reviewers' talk page for way too long and my Bayesian model is skewed towards underestimating new users' good faith values.
- The aggressiveness is mainly for the perceived demanding attitude, but I agree that it was too much.
- Though, I prefer a trout more than a template message. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 15:41, 23 August 2026 (UTC)
- I was being defensive in this previous message (was leaving a videogame and shocked by an lv.2 message). I was thinking about this between then and now, and-

Linking economically
Hi, a tiny point about linking: there is no need to write [[Sugar|sugars]] and suchlike: all you need to do is to write [[sugar]]s and the job is done. - Thanks for the heads up. While this edit from ~2026-47628-63 (talk · contribs) looks quite unambiguous, it seems like Kevinjoel503k removed the part-time Burger King phrase in this edit. Are you sure that 503k is disruptive? 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 12:31, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
- Ah dammit you're right, sorry. Was hoping for a user account that could be checkuser'd with admin tools. I've seen in the past that admins shy away from checkuser for temp accounts, sometimes. ~2026-47022-54 (talk) 12:34, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
- This is because temp accounts' IP information can be viewed with the WP:Temporary account IP viewer permission, so a CheckUser is overkill.
- But in any case, I have requested pending changes protection for the article. Hopefully that'll provide a buffer for the disruption... 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 12:37, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
- A fine idea, thanks. ~2026-47022-54 (talk) 12:44, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
- I've checked the disrupting TAs' IP info and they appear to have a wide range of proxy servers (VPN nodes), so an IP rangeblock seems unnecessary. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 12:47, 1 September 2026 (UTC)

Recent change request
Hi, I recently made some changes to a page and you asked for more source information. I've added it to the talk channel on the article.
Talk:No. 202 Squadron RAF#c-~2026-47713-45-20260901130100-Source for new Commanding Officer
Hopefully this is sufficient information to allow the amendment? Thanks
~2026-47713-45 (talk) 13:12, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, I've replied to you on that page - I personally tend to err on the side of WP:TOOSOON, and prefers waiting for official announcements (e.g., on government websites). 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 13:14, 1 September 2026 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing the c&p move attempt. Could you please help complete the revert? M. Visvesvaraya is semi-protected, and I'm triggering edit filters as non-autoconfirmed, sigh. Thanks. ~2026-48673-42 (talk) 07:35, 12 September 2026 (UTC)

irisChronomia, please refrain from censoring activity on the Robert B. Charles page. Your intuition was correct again
Just so you are aware, your comment on 16 August in ANI, turned out to be true. That user did end up being a sock of DHIRAJDHONA, a sock farm that is technically the same as Raunka sonkar, which is parallel to WP:LTA/ALAS. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 19:47, 20 September 2026 (UTC)

- The fun part that most people forget is that Dunning-Kruger actually describes a spectrum, not just the lowest common denominator. I like to jokingly refer to the other end as "Kruger-Dunning" - the higher your competence in a given area is, the more realistic your appraisal of that competence is, because you're more aware of what you don't know. There can also be overlap with imposter syndrome when you're hyper aware of that gap in your knowledge - and surrounded by the bottom end of the spectrum with their associated overconfidence.
/TangentIn any case, it's not as if we can block unilaterally, so if there's reasonable suspicion I think it's best to let the CU-mins check it out and exercise their more experienced judgement. ChompyTheGogoat [ Bleat | Munched ] 11:14, 21 September 2026 (UTC)- Yeah I know. I just think actual CUs are much more Kruger-Dunning than me, by the sheer amount of cases they've dealt with (and feedback on their previous cases, be it twist-and-turns, updates, overturns, whatever); so I have a very high trust in their judgements.
- - And a very high trust that they'll see what I've seen. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 11:17, 21 September 2026 (UTC)
- In machine learning jargons their models are trained with much more data than me and over a longer time period. Something even Sam Altman agrees as the go-to method of making better models, when more expedient ones aren't available. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 11:19, 21 September 2026 (UTC)
- In that case yes, but most socks don't serve themselves up on a silver platter. Would that they did - it would make our lives much easier! ChompyTheGogoat [ Bleat | Munched ] 11:23, 21 September 2026 (UTC)
- I can only imagine that they're hoping us to think "hey you're an anti-sock fellow, you're with us!" And ignore their contribs / not getting suspicious on them.
- Or that they're bored. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 11:40, 21 September 2026 (UTC)

- I still want to know what's really going on there, because their historical behavior is not consistent with Al Akmar himself. Sure wish I could see the tech data. There's clearly fuckery afoot, but not his typical generic socking. ChompyTheGogoat [ Bleat | Munched ] 10:57, 21 September 2026 (UTC)
- Somewhat related, perhaps. We'll go and see - more data as time moves on... 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 11:01, 21 September 2026 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, there are two separate branches. User:Raunka sonkar was a new group that we lump under the same SPI. They edit the same areas but behave in different ways. There is also a separate group that overlaps with Al Akmar on Maldivian politics and behaves in the same way (in my opinion) but doesn't edit from mobile. - Where there were money to be made... 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 15:19, 21 September 2026 (UTC)
- Is that the Hirematviru group? There was a whole nother mess of accounts in another ANI thread that I think was also separate, but I don't recall how I ran across it. And given the infighting it's clear that some of the individuals aren't directly involved with each other, despite the topic overlap - hence my theory on chasing bounties. Or maybe they rep different clients on opposing sides. Who knows. ChompyTheGogoat [ Bleat | Munched ] 15:32, 21 September 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: T. S. Suryanarayanan
Hello IrisChronomia. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of T. S. Suryanarayanan, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: top 2% of researchers in mycology is a credible claim of importance. Use WP:AFD if oyu feel this should be deleted. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 11:42, 22 September 2026 (UTC)
- I mean... That article is so terribly written I almost think we should just erase it and start over again... 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 11:44, 22 September 2026 (UTC)
- WP:TNT is not a speedy deletion criterion. -- Whpq (talk) 11:45, 22 September 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah. I looked it up and I think I'd go for AfD.
- The top 2% claim is really questionable as it is a number given by a single paper. Most other websites rank him as top 20% or less. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 11:48, 22 September 2026 (UTC)

Sorry
Just wanted to say I'm sorry that discussion happened on your talk page. For the record, the first comment I left on your talk page was intended as nothing more than a good faith attempt to make you aware of a very minor issue you had been involved in. NOT worth the pissing contest that ensued. You are doing great work, keep it up! Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 03:47, 23 September 2026 (UTC)
Not just Anti-predator adaptation, but hundreds of zoology articles affected by wrong move of Alarm signal
Hi, I see you thanked me for objecting to the surprise move of Alarm signal. I have placed an objection on Talk:Alarm signal (animal communication) and on the talk page of the editor (User talk:Jeffrey34555) who summarily closed the move. Needless to say, I think the whole process was misguided, and the reasons given for the move were spurious; the new dab page is not surprisingly wrongly constructed too. We will probably need to conduct a formal move review, worse luck. It had better be more widely consulted and better reasoned than the sorry affair so far. Any help will be warmly welcomed. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:11, 23 September 2026 (UTC)
- I've never dealt with rename-links-after-move before, so I'm not sure - but is it possible that we just batch rename all links to alarm signal to the new name?
- Thanks for bringing this up; I'm checking the move request. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 08:17, 23 September 2026 (UTC)
- We can save all the (pointless) renaming by getting the incorrect move undone; there is nothing to disambiguate so we don't need a dab page. I've said all that and more on Jeffrey34555's page. It might be helpful if you note there that you agree. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:21, 23 September 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah I see - but I do personally found the previous title to be ambiguous, as my first reaction to the name is "that a computer science-related article?". 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 08:25, 23 September 2026 (UTC)
- The question I would ask would be "would some other article plausibly take the same name in the future?", and I think it *might*. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 08:26, 23 September 2026 (UTC)
- It's hard to make predictions especially about the future. "It might" is always true; but we have *no* current instances, which is all we can go on now, this moment. The rules for dab pages say there must be existing ambiguity to allow a disambiguation page to be created. If we need a hatnote (I don't think so) then we only need place one at "Wake-up call" but since that title doesn't contain "Alarm signal" it's just not necessary. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:41, 23 September 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah. I have no opinions for either of the options, I think. Both seems just fine for me. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 08:44, 23 September 2026 (UTC)

Regarding the speedy deletion template on User_talk:Just_fencing
Hey, just so you know, if there's ever spam on a user talk page, it should just be removed and a warning placed there instead; deleting the user talk page is counter productive as it's needed for communication with the user (and it would be immediately recreated after deletion as a result). AIV
Hi, please be more careful with your AIV reports. Except in the most egregious cases, the behaviour should be obviously intended to cause problems and repeated after a request to stop. A bot reports certain filter hits to WP:AIV/TB2, so if the edits don't get through the filter, please leave them to the bot—there's some fairly complicated logic to which filter hits it reports. Thanks, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 10:46, 26 September 2026 (UTC)
- I understand (and apologize for having to be reminded of the "bot will do the AIV report" part the second time). Thank you, Mitchell. I'll remember this. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 10:50, 26 September 2026 (UTC)
