Model III high-resolution graphics resolution

Somebody put a note in the Model III section that the high-resolution graphics screen resolution of 640 x 240 listed in the Radio Shack catalog is a misprint and that it should be 512 x 192. There is no reference or basis for this, and it is not correct. There were third party graphics solutions for the Model III that are 512 x 192, but the official Radio Shack solution is 640 x 240. I know this because I owned and programmed one. I have made corrections with added references. --Willus (talk) 17:15, 26 October 2024 (UTC)

Past tense

Shouldn't this whole article be writen in the past tense? New models aren't being made, the present tense shouldn't normally used, no? 71.11.5.2 (talk) 14:01, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

TRS-80.ORG website owner has died, URLs may become dead

Hello, I’d like to flag a site that is used as a source in multiple Wikipedia articles and may be going offline in the near future.

  • The site is: trs-80.org
  • Owner: Matthew Reed
  • Notice posted on homepage (as of August 23, 2025):

Matthew Reed has passed away. Matthew Reed passed away on August 21, 2025. His site is being preserved by Ira Goldklang of www.TRS-80.com. There will be no further updates to this web site. Rest in Peace, Matthew.

  • Additional concern: The site’s HTTPS certificate is broken. When attempting to access via HTTPS, the browser shows:
This site can’t provide a secure connection
www.trs-80.org sent an invalid response.
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
The site is only accessible via http:// instead of https://.

Because this site is referenced in a significant number of Wikipedia articles, I’m submitting this heads-up so that:

  1. InternetArchiveBot can proactively archive the site and its subpages in the Wayback Machine.
  2. Editors are aware of the situation and can take preservation measures.

Thanks for your help ensuring these references remain accessible. Old Man Young (talk) 13:19, 23 August 2025 (UTC)

www.trs-80emulators.com website owner has died, URLs **WILL** become dead

This is a semi-duplicate of the above post regarding trs-80.org except for two things:

(1) The message on this website is slightly different:

NOTE

Matthew Reed passed away on August 21, 2025. Currently, Ira Goldklang of www.TRS-80.com is maintaining this site.

Unlike TRS-80.org, this site will not remain with this content. Much of the content is to register programs which can no longer be registered, or which talks about versions of the programs which are no longer separate.

Ira needs to copy over the documentation and important information into discrete saved pages. At that point, this site will be repurposed to point to a page or site devoted to ALL TRS-80 emulators..

This notice makes clear the website will be deleting pages so dead links are very likely.

(2) This website does not seem to have any SSL certificate problems like the other one does.
