Disambiguation

This page title needs disambiguating from a large number of other things by this name, such as a perush on the Mishna and a sefer from the Maharal, amongst many others. JFW | T@lk 22:41, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Smb fell for a nice story

"The Kaiser smiled and replied, "I hope the roof will be built soon", and left the Austrian counsel with 1,000 French francs [ref: Horovitz (2000), "Jerusalem, Footsteps Through Time", pp. 192–194] for the dome's construction. From then on, the dome was referred to by locals as "Franz Joseph's cap". [ref: Brayer, p. 262]

Nice story, but just a legend, not fact. See Tamar Hayardeni, "The Kaiser's Cap" in ''Segula'' magazine [he], 16 September 2013 (here). Arminden (talk) 15:29, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

I suggest the part about the cap can be removed, while rewording the 1,000 francs part as a donation for the synagogue with Hayardeni as a source. Zerotalk 05:00, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
