Toy Story
He only made $50,000 for Toy Story? When he was making over a million per episode for Home improvement, before toy story came out?
- I heard on the radio that known actors doing thier first voice-over will take low dollars on the first installment, hoping to cash in on the sequel, which happened here. He got $5 million for TS2 and perhaps more for TS3.

Separate section for the prison issue

I have many times heard Tim sarcastically state that GQ is his "most popular role" - rolls his eyes, smirks, breaks out laughing. Not sure that there are any stats anywhere that could prove it - just because Tim got paid to say it on a special release in order to somehow boost sales ... Stand-up Comedy
I would like to suggest a correction be made to the year that Tim began his stand-up comedy career. It currently states that he began in 1975. However, according to the 'Comedy Section' on his official website found here (http://www.timallen.com/actor/comedy.php), it states that he began on March 23, 1979. Considering that there is no better source than Tim himself, making a correction just might be beneficial.
A second possible improvement to this page is to possibly expand on the story of Tim's arrest for cocaine back in 1978 at the Kalamazoo/Battlecreek International Airport. Here is a suggestion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalamazoo/Battle_Creek_International_Airport#1978_Tim_Allen_incident

- His own website can not be used for that purpose, as it's considered a primary source, and it needs to be a third party reliable source. The original reference has been reviewed as valid. The first day that he performed at a known club and/or declared himself as professional is not the same thing as being the day he started. - There certaintly should be a section on his stand-up career. He's actually a pretty good stand-up, well known for this, and of course it is where he started out before getting into TV. Hi! I know it's been several years. I would like to point out that under certain circumstances Tim Allen's website (a primary source) can be used about himself. Please see Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons#Using_the_subject_as_a_self-published_source. I am also slightly late to this discussion, but if the section "Legal issues" (what a wonderful euphemism) is correct, he was in prison for a few years starting from February 1979, which makes it unlikely that he did his first standup in March 1979. As a side note, the article is currently rather jarring if you read it in one go: here is his early life, here is his career, and oh yeah, here is his two year prison term for cocaine smuggling that we somehow forgot to mention up until now. In the news (as a Conservative)
On his TV show, he is an intelligent but jokingly-forward Conservative. He points out to his Liberal son-in-law-to-be and his beautiful daughters his patriotic American insights. More could be said. So it is no surprised that he tweets: "How does taxing the rich help the middle class succeed?" -- It is no surprise that media makes a big deal of this. -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 16:10, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
- If you read the Blaze article in full, you see that Allen states that his question was just that - an open question. He wasn't criticizing liberalism or necessarily endorsing conservatism. In his nearly 25 years in show business, he has never emphatically stated his allegiance to liberalism or conservatism. The closest thing I could find is a 1996 Charlie Rose interview in which he stated he voted for Ross Perot in the '96 Election. He even said in a January 2013 interview on The View that he agrees with Lewis Black's take on the dual-party system: essentially, that the Democratic Party is a party of no ideas and that the Republican Party is a party of bad ideas.
