Turkey pull out / Italian-Turkish bid 2032.
Can someone edit this as Turkey has now pulled out of the 2028 Euros? I don't have enough knowledge / library of sources nor the time. Rolling Fields. (talk) 10:41, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- There's no evidence Turkey has actually pulled out of the bidding for 2028. – PeeJay 12:04, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- I Understand. Rolling Fields. (talk) 13:47, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- No problem. I think the key is to realise that Turkey and Italy have, at this point, only applied to merge their Euro 2032 bids. If that is accepted, Turkey will likely pull out of the Euro 2028 bidding. – PeeJay 14:01, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, we'll see how the situation develops. Rolling Fields. (talk) 09:52, 29 July 2023 (UTC)

Not yet selected
Although the British-Irish bid is now unopposed, it will not be formally selected until next week. Same with the 2030 FIFA World Cup, where the sole remaining bid won't be selected until next year. --Theurgist (talk) 20:54, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
Hosts and Qualification
Since England is the largest, majority of the games will be held there, and they hold most presence and appeal and on the World stage and highest in FIFA rankings and the Premier League they will be the main host and A1 The other 4 be in Pot 1 as co-hosts and give them the maximum chance of qualifying. Japhes23 (talk) 18:09, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- Just because 5 teams are hosting, I don't see any sources that say all 5 will automatically qualify. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:51, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
- My apologies, I think UEFA would do it in a way, so the chances of them qualifying is guantereed, so they avoid teams such as Portugal, Netherlands, France, Croatia etc or they face one and the others low in fifa rankings, I can't see Ireland getting a familiar group as they have now. Japhes23 (talk) 11:05, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
- UEFA Has Conformed That Only 2 Of The Host Nations Will Automatically Qualify For Euro 2028, Most Likely England and Ireland/Scotland hi (talk) 10:59, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- In particular, the source being listed doesn't support the fact that these 5 teams have qualified. The source is a 2021 invitation for teams to bid, it is not a recent source saying these 5 teams qualify as host, which is what is needed to verify this statement. Assuming that all 5 teams will automatically qualify is WP:OR. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:01, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
- Also note this UEFA publication from 2021 regarding the bid process:
In order to ensure compatibility with the competition’s sporting and commercial format, the automatic qualification of the host team(s) shall be guaranteed only for a single host or a maximum of two joint host associations, as always implemented in the past.
It seems one idea being considered is that all five hosts will enter qualifying, with automatic spots being given for up to 2 hosts which fail to qualify. S.A. Julio (talk) 11:07, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

Location of Stadiums
Can someone add the 10 stadiums that have been confirmed to be in use for the UEFA Euros since it has been confirmed that the UK and Ireland will host.
Compared to Turkey and Italy's bid which has 20 stadiums lined up for consideration in which 10 will be seleected, we already know the Stadiums that will be used Wycombefan (talk) 12:15, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
Languages in Infobox
What determines the language in the infobox? Scots, Ulster Scots, and Cornish are absent. Mn1548 (talk) 16:49, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
- Welsh is absent too. There feels like a persistent effort on this page to spotlight England over the other nations. Editor508 (talk) 08:14, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- This is the English language Wikipedia. Other languages may appear if they form part of the official naming, with sources. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 13:58, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

9 Stadiums - Talk On Hold (Casement Park)
Can we verify this claim, and keep it in check? Since in the 24-team format, games have always been held on 10 stadiums. Soybean46 (talk) 23:37, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- I know this claim stands today, but may change considering logistics of such a big tournament! Soybean46 (talk) 23:38, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- Pretty sure, reading the UEFA website, that we have 10 stadiums, with Belfast Casement Park being missing from the list. Can this be verified then added please? NorthernSystems (talk) 15:57, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- Please Ignore. 9 Stadiums unless it gets further announced. Wiki page for Casement Park shows source from RTE showing that redevelopmenmt works to the stadium will not be completed in time for the Euros.RTE Article UEFA website incorrect at time of review unless otherwise stated. knock out bracket needs fixed
not sure how to do this myself, but schedule does not March with the way bracket is displayed. first qf for example should be 39 v 37 not 38 v 37. ~2025-33145-91 (talk) 22:14, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
Northern Ireland as host
Northern Ireland won't have a home stadium, but will automatically qualify if they don't qualify + 2 highest ranked host that hasnt qualified and if they qualify before the final draw they will be but into Group D in position 1 Liamc07 (talk) 11:54, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Liamc07 sources seem to be split on that. the articles I've seen do suggest Northern Ireland will be d1, but also suggest that thechist spots are only limited to Wales, Scotland, England and Republic of Ireland. ~2025-33145-91 (talk) 14:58, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
Irish, Scots and Welsh translations
Per the article, I am unsure if sources should be inline in the infobox so I am listing them here
- Irish Gaelic: RTE News story
- Scots: TBC
- Welsh: OFCOM
- Black Kite (talk) 18:43, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
- According to WP:IMOS The mere fact that an Irish name appears in certain sources, such as dictionaries or databases, is not sufficient evidence that it is commonly used.. We really need an official translation from UEFA, FAI, FAW or the SFA. Also the translation from RTE calls it gcraobhchomórtas sacair Euro 2028 not Craobhchomórtas Sacair na hEorpa 2028 suggesting that even in Irish it's still called Euro 2028. C. 22468 Talk to me 10:17, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Neither of those sources are "dictionaries or databases". Have you looked at the actual Gaelic or Welsh pages from the FAI/FAW etc? Black Kite (talk) 18:59, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
- Yes and there seems to be no reference of the names used. C. 22468 Talk to me 19:15, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
- So can I ask, how would that differ from, say, Euro 2008? The article for that tournament features the long name for Euro 2008 in all four of Switzerland's official languages - German, French, Italian and Romansch. I can't imagine those versions of the name would have had much, if any, common usage next to the simpler 'Euro 2008'. Where would the sources be for those names officially? If not found, it would seem the formal translation into the official languages of the hosts would suffice. So what's the difference here with Euro 2028? Gallovidisk (talk) 10:50, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- As with Irish Language we have WP:IMOS which states An Irish version of a subject's English-language name may be given in the first sentence of the lead of an article on that subject if it is a well-known, commonly used name for that subject. It may also be used in the appropriate field of an infobox. If there is no commonly used Irish version, it is not appropriate or encyclopaedic to "invent" such names, as this constitutes original research. C. 22468 Talk to me 21:04, 18 July 2026 (UTC)

Attempted vandalism?
Someone keeps editing the page to say that Spain is to be allocated to position A1 if they qualify and Wales is to be allocated to C1, but:
- They never cite their source(s) for this
- Their edits contradict the match schedule released by UEFA
If there has been some press release pertaining to this that flew under the radar, please let me know, otherwise, we may need to be more proactive about setting the record straight. Jacquephine (talk) 04:30, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
Template for Euro 2028 venues?
A template for an infobox for the Euro 2028 venues is yet to be set up. This was done for previous editions of the Euros. All the venues for Euro 2028 have been finalized. SoCalSportsFan123 (talk) 16:39, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
Regeneration
A number of UK cities are having regeneration due to the Euros. Can this be mentioned? This includes host stadium upgrades. Summeroffun55566 (talk) 17:27, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
