Result: No evidence of recent improvements. Consensus to delist achieved. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 11:59, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

Made a GA in 2013. Numerous statements are unsourced that would need to be addressed if this article were to remain as a GA. Onegreatjoke (talk) 21:31, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

Delist really, really unsourced. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 23:30, 8 January 2023 (UTC)
Delist, with 28 'citation needed' tags it's not a GA. Artem.G (talk) 16:53, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Correction needed: Yamuna is not merely a “tributary”

The article states:

“The two major rivers of the state, the Ganges and its tributary Yamuna…”

This wording is misleading. While the Yamuna does eventually merge with the Ganges at Prayagraj, it is not a minor tributary. It is a major independent river and the largest tributary of the Ganges, with a separate source at Yamunotri Glacier in Uttarakhand. A more accurate phrasing would be:

“The two major rivers of the state, the Ganges and the Yamuna, originate from the Gangotri and Yamunotri glaciers respectively.”

Sources that note Yamuna as an independent major river:

– Survey of India river classifications
– National River Basin Authority (India)
– Ministry of Jal Shakti reports

Kindly review and update the wording for accuracy. ~2025-39464-56 (talk) 08:02, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
