Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in List of St. Olaf College people, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 14:39, 19 March 2026 (UTC)

In particular, Wikipedia generally uses sentence case for things like headers, so it's "Composers and conductors", not "Composers and Conductors". No big deal, just something to be aware of. Thank you, Jessicapierce (talk) 14:39, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
Point taken on capitalization. I had been organizing each section in order of graduation year; didn't realize the style guide advised alphabetic order by last name. Buddyglass (talk) 16:12, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
No worries, and there's nothing absolutely wrong with chronological listing of alumni, it's just something that really rarely happens in lists of alumni/residents - alphabetical is nearly always the standard order.
Thanks for the reply, and please let me know if I can help with anything. Cheers, Jessicapierce (talk) 19:58, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
I checked the "list of {college} people" pages for several other colleges and you're right that it's always alphabetical. Will leave it that way since it seems to be the overhwelming norm. Buddyglass (talk) 20:01, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
