Yes, Wikipedia did screw up your "DERP" text-picture. Mind if I fix it for you? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:27, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Actually, you can fix it yourself (I don't like editing other users' user pages unless absolutely necessary). Just add a space to each line of the "DERP" text, so that the last line doesn't start in column 1. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:28, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Hans Wilsdorf Bridge

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Hans Wilsdorf Bridge requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of sieges, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Siege of Coria. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Draft:2016 Congolese protests concern

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:2016 Congolese protests, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:32, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:2016 Congolese protests

Hello, DERPALERT. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "2016 Congolese protests".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing.  » Shadowowl | talk 11:34, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

American politics discretionary sanctions notice

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Campaignbox 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War

A tag has been placed on Template:Campaignbox 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. --► Sincerely: SolaVirum 17:15, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

DULF

Hi, do you have any relationship with, or have you corresponded with DULF, its members or founders? The article's sourcing is heavy on Nyx/Kalicum and DULF authored material. Per WP:PSTS, it's ok to use primary source to establish things like when it was founded, but anything authored by people related to them shouldn't be used to confer importance about them or anything they do to maintain NPOV. Wikipedia is not a scientific journal or textbook, so I feel that specific testing methods used is unnecessary technical minutiae for an encyclopedia article. Graywalls (talk) 20:38, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

I'm a chemistry student at UBC and I am in the Vancouver scene though I do not know the DULF founders.ᗞᗴᖇᑭᗅᒪᗴᖇᎢ (talk) 22:26, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
But yeah I wouldn't be suprised if I have mutual friends with people involved with DULF. Like I go to Red Gate/648 Kingsway shows and I know people at the Alf House. I guess I didn't want to meet one of them and have them think that I was doing them dirty here? (idk?) Again, if this caused POV issues then I can understand.ᗞᗴᖇᑭᗅᒪᗴᖇᎢ (talk) 22:53, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying your position. On maintaining neutrality, this applies to just about everything else. An article should not have substantial amount of contents written citing publications authored by the article's subject or someone closely related to the subject, such as the founders of the organization for which the article is written about. I think you misread the deletion notice, I deleted as promo as well as not meeting notability guidelines.

The book title was incorrectly formatted in the title and text, which doesn't inspire confidence, although obviously not a reason for deletion.

It was promotional because it was a name check without real facts, such as awards or sales, and the supposed content is just telling us the author's views.

One of your references is the book itself, not an independent third-party source, and The Jacobin is a bit niche.

If you really think that your text is neutral and established notability, I'll restore and post at AfD for the community to decide, let me know Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:01, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

I just created a draft for the article. I've never created an article for a book anyway and also I last read this book like 2 years ago and I don't have my copy anymore, so I think I'd rather go through the AfC process anyway. I wrote the main section of Spectacle (critical theory) which I referenced heavily off of Guy Debord's Society of the Spectacle in doing and I was trying to apply that here. I also thought the title formatting was consistent with WP:SUBTITLE ("For books with verbose subtitles, this often means using a concise form in preference to a full "official" name (see WP:CONCISE)") but I'm not too well versed on the ins and outs of Wikipedia article naming convention. Also, just to declare where I stand, I'm a fan of Jonas Ceika's philosophy youtube channel. ᗞᗴᖇᑭᗅᒪᗴᖇᎢ (talk) 09:12, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
All I meant with the formatting is that the book title should be in italics. I can't nominate a draft for AfD, and you've recreated anyway, so let's see what the reviewers think Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:59, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

I'm fine with the file being taken down for now and having to reupload it once the article gets approved.ᗞᗴᖇᑭᗅᒪᗴᖇᎢ (talk) 21:44, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: How to Philosophize with a Hammer and Sickle (December 12)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Hurricane Wind and Fire was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of books). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
A source written by the author of the book cannot be used to establish notability.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Which one of the sources was written by the author? I thought the London Mag review was written by Josh Mcloughlin and the Jacobin review was written by Matt McManus?ᗞᗴᖇᑭᗅᒪᗴᖇᎢ (talk) 04:28, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
I am extremely sorry, I confused this with another tab I was looking at (it was something important I was going in and out off) that had a similar name in it and I confused the two. I will strike out my comment. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 04:31, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
OK, thanks for letting me know. Should I resubmit?ᗞᗴᖇᑭᗅᒪᗴᖇᎢ (talk) 04:32, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
If you could find another source to establish notability, add that in with a little more information provided in that source. That would definitely establish notability, right now, I'm on the fence, not leaning too far either way. It's up to your choice. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 04:35, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
Yeah I couldn't find another non-trivial source. I feel like the book was already on the edge of notability and I put it thru the AfC process despite me being an experienced editor because I wanted to get the consensus on the notability. It seems to barely meet WP:BOOKCRIT but I wanted a second opinion.ᗞᗴᖇᑭᗅᒪᗴᖇᎢ (talk) 04:47, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
