Speedy deletion nomination of The International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP)

Hello DanielCro,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Hi, thank you for your warning, I really appreciate it. I don't have much experience with Wikipedia and still learning. I was thinking that if I put content in Italic I can copy important content from other sites. I was wrong, sorry about that. I just deleted copyright content and will work more on this article. Hi, can you try to format like this with category, stub tag and reference section? It would be useful if you could add an infobox with coordinates on a pin map and some more details too. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:09, 15 March 2023 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I don't have that much experience in creating new Wikipedia articles yet. Honestly, I don't know how to add an infobox with coordinates and a pin map. I will add the category as you showed me in your example. If you or anyone else can help me with the rest, I'd appreciate it. I don't have that much time to study it all, and I want to put all the villages in the municipality of Žumberak on Wikipedia, little by little DanielCro (talk) 18:24, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, I added Category:Populated places in Zagreb County as you shown me in your example but I don't see new category in my article Donji Oštrc - Wikipedia. What happened? DanielCro (talk) 18:42, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
Please do not publish the article then. You are better off learning the essentials rather than publishing an incomplete article. ImperialMajority (talk) 21:03, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
After further review of Daniel's activity, they seem to be publishing multiple poorly written articles. ImperialMajority (talk) 21:15, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
As you can see here: Žumberak, Croatia - Wikipedia
I am trying to find information for the remaining villages in the municipality of Žumberak. These are small villages with about 20 inhabitants for which almost no information exists. Look at the articles about other villages in the municipality of Žumberak that have been processed by other editors on Wikipedia, almost no article is bigger than mine, not because we are all bad editors but because there is very little content available on the Internet. Should all these articles be simply deleted or, in accordance with the assumption of good faith, to help me and other authors on Wikipedia, add as much useful information as possible for visitors.
Isn't that the ultimate goal of working on Wikipedia. I asked for help and I thank Dr. Blofeld and all other well-intentioned Wikipedia editors for their help.
A lot of people have moved out of these villages in the last 100 years and for their descendants this may be the only chance to find any information about the places of their ancestors. Can we all put some effort into this task? I copied exactly the formula for adding a new category to an article and added a section about references and I am ready to make new corrections, the only thing I expect is the support of other, respected Wikipedia editors and the assumption of good faith DanielCro (talk) 21:52, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
Wikipedia DanielCro (talk) 21:53, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
Great, I did it, I added a new category. I managed to add a category when I changed the editing mode, I don't know why, but it's important that it works now. I'm so happy now :) DanielCro (talk) 22:06, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
ImperialMajority, thank you for helping me with
Gornji Oštrc DanielCro (talk) 22:08, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
Yesss! I learned from you how to add infobox, copied from you and just added to Donji Oštrc, thank you, you saved me :) DanielCro (talk) 22:15, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
Congratulations! For the Gornji Oštrc article, I added an infobox but I think further information needs to be added. Maybe a paragraph on it's history as seen on the Croatian Wikipedia. ImperialMajority (talk) 01:03, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
I would also update the image for Donji Oštrc or upload one on https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page if needed. ImperialMajority (talk) 01:04, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
I've gone ahead and updated the image for you. ImperialMajority (talk) 01:25, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
Great, thank you very much ImperialMajority for your help and support. DanielCro (talk) 14:23, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for your suggestion, will try to do in the coming days and weeks. DanielCro (talk) 14:24, 16 March 2023 (UTC)

Vigilare moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Vigilare. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability and it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Joy (talk) 01:29, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

Dear Joy, thank you for your reply and clarification, I am very grateful for that. I believe that Vigilare is a very significant organization in Croatia with a great influence on society, but I think that the Wikipedia article about them in Croatian is incomplete.
So I looked for the English version of the article and was surprised that no one had yet made a Wikipedia article about this controversial organization on the English Wikipedia.
Since I had a little time over the weekend, I decided to start and later refine and finish, so it probably would have been much better if I had chosen the draft version right away, sorry about that.
At first it seemed to me that I had chosen a good style and words, but now, when I read my words again after your explanation, I see that you are right and that I should use less statements from the media and more generally describe their actions and programs.
Thank you for your help and explanation on how to improve this article.
I will have some time next week, so I will work on this article until I find the right, encyclopedic and neutral presentation style.
Can I ask you to read this article again and tell me your opinion again after that and before sending this article for review?
Like anyone else, I don't want to lose my work after putting in the effort and time.
Thank you for your understanding and help.
Best Regards
DanielCro DanielCro (talk) 15:32, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
I tried to fix my article according to your recommendations and advice, for which I am really grateful.
Can you take a look now and tell me what you think, is the article ready to pass the review and be published on Wikipedia or does it still need to be fixed? If so, can you tell me what specifically so I can continue working on the article? Thank you very much for your help and understanding. I really appreciate the help of older and more experienced Wikipedia community members like you DanielCro (talk) 14:18, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

Overlinking

Hi, thank you for your edits on Wikipedia so far. Could you take a moment to read the Manual of Style an inparticular the section on overlinking, regarding the number of wikilinks you are inserting. It’s not good practice to wikilink obvious words and phrases which are in common usage, and common geographical features such as countries and languages. The page becomes overlinked and difficult to see the actual words which may require further research. As an example on your edits on Vukovar you wouldn’t link ‘years’, everyone knows what a year is, likewise ‘symbol’, ‘calendar’, ‘border’, ‘vineyards’, ‘swamps’ etc. These are all terms which any reader of the page will understand. Wikilinks need to be used to explain technical terms and relevant connecting subjects. It would probably be wise to review links you have placed to date and remove the unnecessary ones, to save other editors time. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out to me, or to the Teahouse. Mramoeba (talk) 18:32, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Having had a quick look at some of the other pages you’ve worked on I am going to suggest you refrain from adding any more internal links until you are a bit more familiar with Wikipedia. Mramoeba (talk) 18:52, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
In any case, I think it's still better to add more Wikilinks that can be removed later in case of need than too few so visitors can't understand some terms or find additional information DanielCro (talk) 21:02, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll consider them and revisit some of my older articles and remove some unnecessary wikilinks when I find time DanielCro (talk) 21:00, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:43, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Club of Madrid, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Slovenian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 20:10, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

I don't agree with your opinion. I shared a link from a reliable source of information, one of the most read portals in Croatia, https://web.archive.org/web/20110902090249/http://www.alexa.com/topsites/countries/HR and which is a reliable source of information. Index does not share unverified or biased information as you can see in this report:https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/index-hr-croatia-bias/
According to the report, this page has "MBFC Credibility Rating: HIGH CREDIBILITY".
Based on this info I believe that this link should not be removed just on the basis of the fact that the article is not in English, because it is a reliable source of information and a well-read portal that is followed and trusted by a lot of readers DanielCro (talk) 21:21, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
Sorry, I made a mistake adding this link: https://reutersinstitute.politics.ox.ac.uk/digital-news-report/2022/croatia
This site has nothing to do with a list of unrelated topics with similar titles and in this article site contains important and reliable facts for the Wikipedia article Club of Madrid.
By removing this content, from a reliable source of information, and by removing facts important to the article, this WP article will remain incomplete, without recent information important to the WP article Club of Madrid. DanielCro (talk) 21:35, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

index.hr

Articles by index.hr like the one you cited on a number of our "given name" pages and are mostly AI generated/translated or are adopted from Wikipedia. I don't think they count as WP:Reliable sources, especially those with no author's name. Please try to find better sources for your recent additions. Best, Ponor (talk) 14:06, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

I don't agree with your opinion. I shared a link from a reliable source of information, one of the most read portals in Croatia, [1]https://web.archive.org/web/20110902090249/http://www.alexa.com/topsites/countries/HR and which is a reliable source of information. According to the report, this page has "MBFC Credibility Rating: HIGH CREDIBILITY". DanielCro (talk) 15:13, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
That depends on many things. Many of their articles are clickbait, taken from others, or machine-translated stuff from the internet. There are three things affecting reliability, per Wikipedia:SOURCEDEF. The second one listed is the author. There is no author for the article you're referencing. Ponor (talk) 10:40, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
I found an additional source, as requested DanielCro (talk) 10:48, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
This site by Institut za hrvatski jezik seems like a much better source: http://osobno-ime.hr/ Ponor (talk) 10:48, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for the very good link, this is a much faster way to search and publish information on Wikipedia than searching in their book, which takes too much time.
A lot of WP articles about names are incomplete, and there is a lack of key information about the meaning of the name, and the articles themselves lack sources.
It seemed to me that through these few articles on Index I could bridge that gap, because this kind of information is usually very difficult to find on the Internet, but now you have given me a new idea and inspiration on how to get that information.
Thank you for your help and understanding. This is a true example of a mutually beneficial and important collaboration on Wikipedia in order to find and share this important information with the public DanielCro (talk) 13:25, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
My pleasure! You'll find some names here as well. Do remember us on hr: too! Ponor (talk) 01:47, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of International Summit Council for Peace

Notice

The article International Summit Council for Peace has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article fails WP:INHERITORG. Some prominent individuals have spoken or attended their conferences, but no real evidence of the organization's notability. Sources either focus on one specific local politician who attended or give a bare mention in a list of Unification Church associated conferences

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Hi Daniel, just letting you know that I've proposed an article you created for deletion. Basically, after 3 years, no one has been able to add more or better sources than the ones you found intially. If you would like, you can object by removing the template from the article page. I will then nominated it for the full AfD procedure so we can discuss it. CamAnders (talk) 02:15, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
I have added new sources of information and content to the article, and I believe I have addressed the concern about the lack of reliable sources of information and content for this Wikipedia topic. I believe this is a sufficiently important topic, given all the activities and the politicians and statesmen involved, and that the article should remain. Of course, when I find more good sources, I will continue to expand article. Thank you for your support and effort in making the articles on WP more relevant and of higher quality, which is our shared goal DanielCro (talk) 13:58, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

International Summit Council for Peace (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

Subject is a non-notable Unification Church affiliated organization. Current sourcing fails to show notability. After close to 3 years with a more citations tag, the current citations are:

  • 5 primary sources reprinting speeches from ISCP or press releases by the ISCP or their speakers
  • 1 source giving a close paraphrase of a speech from an ISCP conference

With the exception of the bare mention in the middle of list of other similar UC organizations in Freedom of Belief The Journal of CESNUR which is partially funded by the Unification Movement (included in it's entirety below), all the sources are exclusively interested in the attendees, not the ISCP itself. This clearly fails WP:INHERITORG, which says An organization is not notable merely because a notable person or event was associated with it. A corporation is not notable merely because it owns notable subsidiaries. The organization or corporation itself must have been discussed in reliable independent sources for it to be considered notable. Some notable people have spoken at ISCP conferences, but ISCP is not itself notable.

The UPF is active through a number of specialized organizations, each of which holds its own events:

  • The International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP)
  • The International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP)
  • The International Association of First Ladies for Peace (IAFLP)
  • The Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD)
  • The International Media Association for Peace (IMAP)
  • The International Association of Academicians for Peace (IAAP)
  • The International Association for Peace and Economic Development (IAED)

[...]

The Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD) has been launched on November 13, 2017, in Seoul, as a partner association of IAPP. More than 60,000 attended the event at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. The idea behind IAPD is that the aims pursued by the IAPP parliamentarians, and by UPF in general, also have a spiritual dimension, and that dialogue between religions is a necessary pre-condition for peace. Regional meetings have gathered representatives of most major religions.

Dead links? I don't understand, yesterday I found and opened all those links again. Therefore, all Wikipedia users can open those articles and verify all sources of information.
In any case, let other WP editors check all the sources of information and make a decision. I will accept the decision of the WP community.
If other WP editors conclude that the sources of information are not reliable or that they are dead links (which I do not agree with because I opened all the links without any problems) and that it is not an important topic for Wikipedia, I will accept such a decision. DanielCro (talk) 10:17, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
Hi Daniel, I think you meant to reply to me on this page. I've replied there accordingly. CamAnders (talk) 10:30, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
OK thank you very much.
Below is my answer on other page.
You are right about that one link, but all the other 4-5 links that I added yesterday are fine, the sources can be verified, and the additional content and information prove that this is an important article about a very important political initiative, for Wikipedia and beyond.
Thank you for your help and support trying to search for archives in order to rescue missing articles, I'm really grateful to you for this effort.
