MOS:DEADNAME

Please don't add the deadname of the perpetrator at Annunciation Catholic Church shooting. No matter how well it may be sourced, we have a policy, MOS:DEADNAME, against this practice. If the person wasn't well-known already under their previous name, we don't include it in our articles. Fram (talk) 10:54, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Jolielover. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Assassination of Abu Obaida seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Particularly, editing the article to insert the word "heroic" in reference to the person. This is not reflected in the source. jolielover♥talk 15:27, 31 August 2025 (UTC)

sorry that wasn't me. the edit conflict must have merged together because i didn't write that that's why i was confused that it kept getting reverted dom 15:30, 31 August 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of 2025 Balçova police station shooting

Notice

The article 2025 Balçova police station shooting has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per:WP Not News. Certainly, there are news reports about this attack, but mostly tabloids have reported on this and are not reliable sources. If anyone has reliable sources, feel free to revert and add more to this article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Re:

I object to mass-changing things to your personal preference when there exists a high level of consistency in an article. Use it:

  1. When there is little consistency in the article. In this situation, you are creating consistency where none existed, which is a good thing. Or,
  2. When "your personal preference" can be shown to be objectively superior. That was not the case here.

Merely food for thought. Mandruss  IMO. 14:49, 12 September 2025 (UTC)

Your contributed article, 2025 Grand Blanc church shooting

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, 2025 Grand Blanc church shooting. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Grand Blanc church shooting. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Grand Blanc church shooting. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Raskuly (talk) 16:06, 28 September 2025 (UTC)

Files

Not sure what you mean by this, but yes, you can - I'd know this as someone who has uploaded over 500 uploads in over a decade here.

Instead, you seem more happier to edit-war over the content instead of going about it correctly. -- Alex_21 TALK 02:43, 7 November 2025 (UTC)

Go to c:File:Welcome To Derry Logo.svg, and find the "Upload a new version of this file" link. You're welcome. -- Alex_21 TALK 02:44, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
first thing i tried, even beofre i uploaded my own version, but thanks dom 02:48, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
Then do you think that perhaps it might be a good idea to ask in the proper location for the file to be overwritten, rather than 1) edit-warring over the content, and 2) substituting the properly-named "Welcome To Derry Logo.svg" with a poorly named "Welcome to derrylogo.svg"? -- Alex_21 TALK 02:52, 7 November 2025 (UTC)

Mass dupe citation tags and removals

Hello, I see you have an interest in cleaning up duplicate citations.

In this edit from The Holocaust, there’s a sentence that was deleted as part of the dupe removal, and also, the two cites reference different page numbers.

Are you willing to either pause your dupe cite project while you get more acquainted with citations or exercise much more caution going forward in what you chose to delete and combine? Mikewem (talk) 13:14, 16 November 2025 (UTC)

Hello, Ddellas,

Why are you removing sources from this article and others without any edit summary or explanation? This is disruptive editing and can look like vandalism. If this continues, you will be facing a block from editing. A lot of this can be cleared up if you regularly supplied an edit summary explaining your edit and why you are doing what you are doing. You'll find experienced editors make this a habit. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 07:41, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
