- Hello! Thank you very much for your feedback! However, I just had a little question concerning a source that you marked as "failed verification". Here is its full name: Pepper, Roland Neville (July 30, 1965). "Geoffrey Hoyland". The Friend (Quaker magazine). pp. 903–904.
- How can I make this source reliable? I have a paper edition of the article, should I just scan it on maybe contact the newspaper archives? Haysop76 (talk) 08:47, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Haysop76
- I tried to access digitalized versions of the source, but it appears they are not available yet, so I can't verify the source. You could ask the newspaper if they would be kind enough to digitalize the article and make it available on their website. Alternatively, you could scan it and upload it to a website like Archive.org or (less desirably) ResearchGate, or similar websites. That would make it a self-published source, which makes verification even more necessary, specially considering you stated you have a conflict of interest.
- By the way, while reviewing I found this source that seems reliable and independent, as well as very detailed on Hoyland. You may expand the draft using this info or substitute problematic references with this one if they agree on the same things.
- I hope my reply is helpful! Have a good day. NeoGaze (talk) 11:16, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
Links to draft articles
Please do not introduce links to draft articles in actual articles, as you did to List of Quakers and Hoyland (surname). Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 19:35, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi Haysop76! I noticed that you recently made an edit at Daniel Wheeler and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia: it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 09:09, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Haysop76! Your additions to George Edmondson (educationalist) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § Licensing.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:52, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
