The Bear articles
Hi, thought I'd open a dialogue as I noticed the thanks sent. I just want to open by saying with all sincerity I think you should consider opening a blog or contributing to a fan wiki about The Bear as what you've been writing is extremely detailed and would likely be of high interest to dedicated fans of the show. However much of it is failing to keep to the "general" encyclopaedia aspect of Wikipedia, and is extremely overburdening for the more casual audience articles are written for.
In particular I just want to suggest that it might be worth pausing the changes you're making to Food of The Bear (TV series) and instead work out what you want that article to "be" as it were. Reading it, there is some really good substance for an article about how food is used in the show to examine character (Carmey cooking exceptionally basic items for himself at home, compared to work) and social issues (such as how the basis of what Claire eats is sourced from Sydney without acknowledgement has been seen as commentary on how the work of Black women goes unacknowledged), but it's lost within an extremely long article that overall lacks direction with a lot of trivial information such as listing every form of pasta sauce made on the show (and how people online have tried to work out what it is), extended quotes from the show and how they're humourous, etc cluttering it and robbing it of focus.
It's clear you're a big fan of the show and want to improve its inclusion here which isn't a bad thing, but as someone trying to read these pieces the tendency towards overinclusion of every verifiable piece of coverage is making them a very difficult read for the purposes of getting a broad, useful overview of topics to the point of being almost impenetrable.
More than happy to lend a hand towards this if so desired. Rambling Rambler (talk) 17:58, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yes! @Rambling Rambler Articles inhale and exhale, grow and shrink, at the moment I'm just in reference(s) hell. Do we need every fact about Italian beef sandwiches, no. Is every pasta variable notable? Jesus who cares. Are all of Sydney's bad ideas in "Pop" crucial? The gist is that she's chasing her tail for "reasons."
- Does it matter what kind of mushrooms Terry is trimming? Probably not. but does Shapiro messing up the Chicago pizza tell us something about his character? Yes
- That said, I would also like to wait until S5 comes out before pruning drastically because there is transparently a great deal of narrative "baked into" the food, as it were, and I suspect there are some conclusions or resolutions in S5 that will illuminate how best to refine. Is waiting something you can, uh, bear? (Don't mind me.)
- long story short, can we possibly put a pin in it until after S5 comes out and tackle remodeling it then? Or discuss pieces on the talk page. I'm not trying to be a pain, sorry if I am

- As a happy medium what I might do at the weekend when I have time is more rewriting the sections that are already there compared to the more "slice and dice" to the already aired episode articles, if that makes sense? Rambling Rambler (talk) 18:29, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- Sure. PS I'm not trying to own this article I swear, jump on in, but I promise you on my children:
- Beverage anything
- Lamb anything
- Beef anything
- Prawns anything
- Flowers bouquets nests eggs anything
- pasta lore
- & any braised food
- are important. See also the titles of the S5 eps.
- I did not just mean to name all foods. I definitely left out pork and duck and most vegetables LOL. The desserts are Marcus' business.
- kinda like Carmy with the sandwich in "Scallop" I would ask you to trust me a little but go with god and you do you @Rambling Rambler
