Please help me with... Hi guys, thanks in advance for the help. Could an admin please look at the status of my submission and confirm if I have actually submitted it for review correctly or if its stuck somewhere in the system? Many thanks. LJ12345 (talk) 01:00, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
- Please don't use multiple forums to seek assistance, this duplicates effort. If you are referring to your sandbox, it is not pending and doesn't even have the submission template to enable submission. I will place the draft in draft space (the preferred location for drafts, which can be accessed via the Article Wizard) and place the information needed to submit it. 331dot (talk) 01:03, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
- I have placed it at Draft:Neil McGuinness. It is not ready for submission, as you have no sources. We need to know where your information is coming from. Please see Referencing for beginners to learn more about writing citations.
- It's not clear to me how Mr. McGuinness is a notable person. You say "McGuinness is known for having deep connections within the industry while combining traditional scouting expertise with modern performance data analytics. He has spoken publicly about the importance of mental attributes, tactical intelligence, and adaptability when evaluating players for top-level football" but don't say who says this and why, or why that is particularly important/significant/influential according to independent reliable sources. Please see Your first article. 331dot (talk) 01:08, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for the feedback.
- There are numerous links to articles attached to the draft. Do I need to do something additional?
- Again, I appreciate the help, the process is confusing so any assistance to actually get this pushed to submission and review would be appreciated.
- The source links are all there and have been from the start. If they need to be put somewhere else please let me know. Thank you. LJ12345 (talk) 19:02, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
- Sources need to be in line next to the text that they support; this is a requirement for all articles, but is vital for articles about living people, where every substantive fact about a person that a reasonable person might challenge must be sourced. Please see Referencing for Beginners.
- If you intend the four sources at the bottom as references, I examined them:
- I think the link is bad, I got a page not found
- this is an interview with Mr. McGuinness, which is not an independent source as by definition an interview is the person speaking about themselves.
- is a announcement of being named to a new job position, a routine activity
- is the announcement his new employer made of his hiring
- None of these establish notability, and I'm fairly sure that some facts in the article are not supported by those sources. 331dot (talk) 19:55, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
- And, please disclose any connection you have to Mr. McGuinness(see below). 331dot (talk) 19:57, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) I might also add that the sources are not formatted correctly, rather as normal hyperlinks. Please see this page for more info on how to cite sources correctly.
- The Visual Editor makes this easy as it has a "Cite" button built in. thetechie@enwiki (she/they | talk) 21:38, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
