Information icon Hi Lachoza! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Sj Miller that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia  it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Hi - re your recent edit with the edit summary Added a table on advocacy and added UNESCO as supporting my international advocacy (emphasis added): If you are the subject of an article or editing on their behalf, you have a conflict of interest, and need to disclose this. Please review WP:COI. Funcrunch (talk) 21:37, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 20:57, 11 June 2025 (UTC)

This has been resolved. 50.193.237.50 (talk) 21:31, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
I thought this has been taken care of. I continued to be confused and I am exhausted by this. Lachoza (talk) 21:41, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
Hang in there. I know the policies, practice, and culture of Wikipedia can be overwhelming. I would just let the COI/N process play out. I don't normally participate in that notice board, but in general the folks who do are quite reasonable and provide thoughtful assessments and guidance. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 05:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
Thank you-- would you kindly let me know if that just means people communicate and then it gets fixed and the "tag" is removed? I appreciate you MYCETAE. :) ❤️ 2601:8C3:857F:BD60:5492:8DFA:625A:91E5 (talk) 17:29, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
I don't want to sidestep the process. I would just lay low if I were you. Certainly do not edit sj Miller until there is some sort of response from the noticeboard (COI/N). I see two different IPs responding here. Perfectly above-board editors forget to log in all the time—this is not a violation in and of itself—but you should be aware that it can raise eyebrows especially if there is any concern that an editor is misrepresenting themselves or trying to obscure their contributions. This is not an accusation, just a heads up. If you do contribute anywhere on English Wikipedia while there is an open discussion about your edits at COI/N—and really any time—make every effort to remember to sign in. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 19:44, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
If there's no response from COI/N after a week, I will do my best to give you some advice on how to move forward. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 19:46, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
obviously another "stupid" - I did not know. Ugh! So sorry. So- will can the tag still be
removed- or is that what we can connect on next week? Thank you again. I appreciate you. Lachoza (talk) 19:51, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
At this time, I'm not comfortable overriding the other editors who have added it back. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 19:58, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
Thank you- I understand. Lachoza (talk) 22:21, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
Lachoza, After nearly a week, unfortunately, there has been no input from COI/N at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard#sj Miller. My recommendation is to review WP:COI (Conflict of interest editing guideline), which I know has been shared with you already, and to treat your relationship with the subject as a COI unless and until there is further determination by the community (editors). In particular, review the section on disclosing COI (WP:DISCLOSE). I suggest proposing changes to sj Miller on the Talk page and letting other editors assess your recommendations and make appropriate changes themselves, especially with respect to adding or removing large amounts of content. One option is to use the {{edit COI}} tag in a new section on the Talk page to make the nature of the request highly visible. Do not remove the {{COI}} tag from sj Miller. That determination should be made by another editor. You may discuss or suggest its removal at Talk:sj Miller. You are also free to seek guidance from WP:COI/N or other appropriate venues.
I know this is not the response you were hoping for, and may feel like a bit of a non-answer. There are many other ways to contribute to Wikipedia. Sometimes it is best take a step back from a subject where there has been a dispute with other editors. And as noted, you do have options for suggesting improvements to sj Miller. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 15:32, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for your follow-up. I wanted to clarify that I did mention I was a former graduate student of Dr. Miller’s approximately eight years ago. I disclosed this during a prior talk, after reviewing the Conflict of Interest (COI) page.
As far as I understand, there has been some discrepancy—one person indicated this does not constitute a COI, while another suggested it might. I’d appreciate any further clarification you can provide so I can ensure everything is handled appropriately.
Thank you. 😌 Lachoza (talk) 16:32, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
I would continue the discussion at Talk:sj Miller, as I see you have done. I don’t have any further recommendations as to where to take the discussion this time. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 20:15, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
Thank you. You’re a gem. Lachoza (talk) 20:50, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
