I've been treating a new editor with a light hand as they try to workshop a draft on AY Young on my talk page. You draftified (later G13d) an article on this subject a few years ago. Personally I would try to discourage COI editors from creating articles about their employer. Even if well-intentioned, the result is likely to be promotional due to the COI. However, you should thank the editor for being honest. MER-C 18:30, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

Hallo, I'd like to create an article on Anjali Ameer, not least because she's in the intersection of two of this month's "Women in Red" editathons: LGBTQ+ women and Women from countries I,J,K,L. As India's first transgender actress and having starred in several films, I think she appears to be notable. An article on her was deleted at AfD in 2017, and you then protected it in 2018 as "creation by admin only", after some recreations by blocked editors etc. She seems to have got quite a lot of coverage in what look like WP:RS. She has articles in Malayalam and Telegu wikis, and a Wikidata record. Her career has developed since the "TOOSOON" and "ONEEVENT" of 2017 - eg The Spoils (film).

I looked at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Decrease, but the instruction there is to talk to the protecting admin first, so here I am. Could you please reduce the level of protection so that I can create a new article on her? I don't want to waste time creating a draft if it will never be able to get into mainspace. Thanks.
