Messi updates

Hello. Thought I'd mention that I restored the name of the clubs that Messi scored during that 2009 season, see my edit here. I do agree with the trimming promo language but thought it would be beneficial to include the clubs' names. Funny enough, I went through the article this afternoon after seeing Getafe's goal on YouTube (for the 100th+ time) and wanted to see if it was mentioned in the article because I thought I had read about it before and was curious if it had an article. Then I saw your edit. Hope the update I made was okay. Cheers, Morogris () 09:01, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

Thank you for this kind and thoughtful note. That's a very reasonable edit. In light of what you shared, I added the significance of the goal to the Career of Lionel Messi page here.
I wish everyone on Wikipedia was as courteous as you. 😊 OrdinaryOtter(talk) 13:59, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

Hello

Hi I saw your work on other film pages and was wondering if you could take a look at the interstellar talk page and give your opinion if the sources should stay or not. 34jomes (talk) 15:37, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

Hey there, I appreciate you reaching out. However, I'm going to be honest and say that I don't have the patience or stamina for that type of discussion right now. You might try asking Darkwarriorblake or DAP389 for their input—they are both experienced editors who have worked on high-quality film and media articles. Best of luck—it looks like an important discussion for the Interstellar page to be having. OrdinaryOtter(talk) 19:57, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

Harry Potter redirects

Hi,

Please bear in mind that a major reorganisation of a list page (e.g. "List of Harry Potter characters") will result in many broken redirects. I'm not a Potter fan, but I've fixed a number of links to "The Fat LadyThe Fat Lady" on related pages that now point to the wrong target.

Best wishes, Jean-de-Nivelle (talk) 15:39, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

Hello! Thanks for the message. The Fat Lady had to be deleted from the list, because she's a minor character who is hardly a character at all—she's a talking painting.
I'm sorry that my deletion of her entry caused an inconvenience. Are there things I could have done differently during the deletion and redirection process that would have made things easier for you and others? Please let me know.☺️ OrdinaryOtter(talk) 18:36, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
No need to apologise. It's good practice to check the list of pages that link to a particular redirect if you intend to retarget it, and take care of any problems as part of the retargeting process. In the case of the "List of Harry Potter characters" page, there are now many incoming links that point to sections that no longer exist. These could be dealt with by retargeting those redirects to the relevant alphabetical sections, or using embedded anchors on the target page. I've updated a few that I've encountered on other pages, but I'm not familiar enough with the subject to take on the whole job.
Best wishes, Jean-de-Nivelle (talk) 19:08, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. Of the list you provided, how do I determine which links go to a section that doesn't exist? I've been randomly clicking on some, and finding they still go where they are meant to. OrdinaryOtter(talk) 19:24, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Some use anchors in the list page, which means that the redirects still work as intended. The page currently has 73 anchors. The only way to determine which of the incoming links no longer work correctly is to click on each of them in turn! So, for example, "Bill Weasley" goes straight to the character in the list because he has an anchor like this: {{Visible anchor|Bill Weasley|text=Weasley, Bill}}. "Charlie Weasley" and "Arthur Weasley" don't, because they don't have anchors. You could give them anchors, or just retarget their redirects to List of Harry Potter characters#W. Got it, thanks! OrdinaryOtter(talk) 20:03, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
What should we do with characters like Parvati Patil, who, like the Fat Lady, were removed from the characters list for being too minor? OrdinaryOtter(talk) 20:12, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
You'll have to work that out! My instinct would be to leave that one for now. It's possible someone may want to create an entry for that character in the future, and there are several pages that use that redirect at present. It's doing no harm as it is. OrdinaryOtter can make stuff make since

OrdinaryOtter is very helpful because he's able to make things that don't make any since and he turns it into very common since. Thank You -6-7 Kid Common sense 6-7 Kid remix (talk) 17:17, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

Wizarding World "Last Appearance" Removal

Hey there,

Let me know if you want any help with removing this from the character info boxes. Offering a hand as it was the disagreement between us that resulted in the back and forth.

Cheers, B.Davis2003 (talk) 10:12, 4 April 2026 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for the offer!
Sure, we can tackle it together. I did a couple already, but we can split the rest in half. If you go to the HP infobox at the bottom of each HP page (it is usually collapsed), there is a list of all the characters. Why don't you start at the beginning, with Harry, and do Harry through McGonagall, and then I'll do the ones after, Draco through Umbridge? I did Luna and Zabini already. OrdinaryOtter(talk) 16:02, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
No worries, I've removed these from the character pages HP - MM! B.Davis2003 (talk) 09:16, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
