Hello, I noticed that recently you removed (in revision https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_countries_by_system_of_government&oldid=1347560542) "Guinea" as a 'duplicate entry', possibly confusing that country with similarly-named but different country "Guinea-Bissau". Please consider undoing that change / restoring "Guinea" to the List of countries by system of government page, thanks AliveinFrance (talk) 12:51, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

I did not confuse Guinea and Guinea-Bissau, they were duplicate entries as both country are currently ruled by a military junta and were in that section but also in the section for the systems they had before the coup meaning both were in the list twice. upon further examination turned out Guinea (but not Guinea-Bissau) was not duplicated, apparently last year Guinea held a fraudulent election legitimizing the rule of Mamady Doumbouya so it is no longer technically a military junta and it was removed from that section which I did not notice. If we don't include a full transcription of the names on the map, we'll need to list them under the map, which will take more room and require readers to go back and forth.

I don't see how they could possibly aid in pronunciation. it certainly didn't help me and you cannot just expect readers to know what diacritics mean pronunciation wise, and even if they did you don't need a pronunciation guide no other list like this contains one. the far more likely scenario is a reader will look at the map and assume that the official names of these subdivisions may even be confused that they aren't used anywhere else. If we wanted the official names we'd write them in Cyrillic: only Cyrillic is official.

Even native Russian speakers need stress marked for words they don't know.

If people are confused by Russian pronunciation or transcription, they can look it up.

no I'm not telling you that, I was saying I did not know how to pronounce them and diacritics did not help at all because I had no idea what they are supposed to represent. the diacritic confused me quite a bit when I first saw them which was the main reason I removed them and I cannot have been be alone in this. There was significant opposition, and if you read through each !vote, you'd see there were concerns brought up by myself and others that not all !votes appeared to be entirely valid. Did you just look at every vote with support in it? Many of those were actually pointing towards 2026 Albanian protests as the target for the move. In addition, your rationale here only one was opposed to moving, and that user later changed there mind appears inaccurate, as by my count, there were four in opposition to the move to Flamingo Revolution, including two that explicitly challenged the snowball close. I did in fact compare arguments, the argument for moving was far more convincing given that it is used by multiple reliable scores and the argument that it is not technically a revolution (at least yet) is not convincing as that fact does not change the fact that flamingo revolution is the common name. btw I did see that some users supported moving to 2026 Albanian protests but I still counted those as support for moving even if they preferred a different name.
