List of engagements during the Second Boer War moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to List of engagements during the Second Boer War. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 14:03, 17 July 2024 (UTC)

I understand, I will be doing my research on the subject in due time. Thank you for the concern and the action of putting the article as a draft, as I understand an article without citations is very risky to have.
Thank you for the advisory, I will publish once I have gathered more than adequate evidence to support it.

Recent edit to 5th Guards Armoured Brigade

Earlier today you added content to this article which included the sfn cite {{sfn|Trew|Badsey|2004|p=64}}. This cite has no complete reference to anchor to, to target within the article. From my research I assume it's the Simone Trew/Stephen Badsey book as seen here:
* {{cite book |first1=Simon |last1=Trew |last2=Badsey |first2=Stephen |series=Battle Zone Normandy |title=Battle for Caen |publisher=Faber and Faber |year=2004 |isbn=978-0-7509-3010-9}}
Please add the complete reference to the article because as it stands now Ref #1 is throwing a sfn error/Harv cite error and presently the article is in Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors. See User:Trappist the monk/HarvErrors for an explanation of the script that enables seeing Harv errors. - Shearonink (talk) 14:18, 25 August 2025 (UTC)

My apologies; I took a look at it and fixed it - article seems to be working fine now. PrivateRyan44 (talk) 01:39, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
Thanks! - Shearonink (talk) 01:47, 26 August 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Words on Fire

Hello, PrivateRyan44

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Cardboard Moose, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Words on Fire, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Cardboard Moose}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Hello, Cardboard Moose:
Your deletion notice is duly noted, and your reason for doing so is valid; I had wanted to make an entry related to this book, however noting the lack of reliable sources, combined with the fact that the ones I could find have vested interests, I understand your reasons for deletion of the article. Thanks for making me aware that this article was unsuitable for Wikipedia.
Sincerely,
Ryan PrivateRyan44 (talk) 21:09, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
