Possible change of TLBs and thus less and less notability of Navy Command
Dear Dormskirk, thank you for your constant following around after me to add finishing touches, often at Royal Navy and RAF articles. You will recall many of our Royal Navy organisation articles were started or edited heavily by a departed user User:Navops47, who had great expertise on the medieval Navy but got rather led astray by primary source references in his 20th-century articles. Among his indefatigable efforts but sometimes misguided efforts was Navy Command (Royal Navy). Now Navy Command after CINCFLEET went away was described as the Whale Island headquarters, the Leach Building; a grouping of senior officials; and, also, the Navy Top Level Budget (TLB). I have just come across an NAO document that seems to indicate that the TLBs may have been reorganised, but I have not been able to be entirely certain: there are now Dept of State, Military Strategic HQ (all uniformed activities), National Armaments Director, and Defence Nuclear Organisation.. https://www.nao.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/mod-2024-25.pdf. So the service-specific TLBs, Army, Navy, and Air may have stopped being used.
As the TLBs may have gone away, we already have an article on the Whale Island HQ, and we have previously talked about creating Structure of the Royal Navy (see Talk:Royal Navy after the business with the "Naval Service,") and the whole Navy Command article is based very heavily on primary sources, my inclination is to wait a little longer to see when we can confirm the TLBs have all been restructured, then reorganise and fold Navy Command into a Structure of the Royal Navy, incorporating historical evolution of the command structure. Your thoughts are welcome. Buckshot06 (talk) 14:35, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- Yes. That all makes sense to me. Let's see what MOD publishes in the near future. Best wishes, Dormskirk (talk) 14:45, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- Also just confirmed the webpage for the HQ is gone, last time I could find it active was December 2018. Buckshot06 (talk) 14:50, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

FYI on warnings
Hi, I noticed when you warned this user you seem to have copy and pasted a warning I left on someone else's page and left my name in. It's not a big deal whatsoever so don't worry!
Just so you know, you can use the extension Twinkle to quickly add warnings, or copy them from this page. Rccn (talk 13:35, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
