Please read before leaving a speedy delete comment

Please note: I do a lot of work as an admin in the speedy deletion process. If you came to my talk page because I did or did not speedy delete an article, be aware this process is only supposed to be used "in the most obvious cases." For example, if an article is brought up for speedy delete under criteria A7 but an admin discovers even an "indication of importance" in the article's subject — which doesn't mean that the article's subject meets Wikipedia's notability requirements or is even close to that, but instead has a mere credible claim of importance — we're not supposed to use speedy delete. Sometimes I don't speedy delete an article and instead recommend it to articles for discussion, even through I would personally vote in an AFD to delete it. The reason for this is because speedy delete is very restrictive. If the process wasn't this way, admins could simply delete articles for arbitrary reasons, which no one wants. On the flip side, this also means that if an article was speedy deleted odds are it has no chance of meeting notability or other guidelines on Wikipedia. Assistance with Pretium edits

Hello SouthernNights, pleasure to meet you. I'm the declared paid editor for Pretium Partners. I noted your previous editing on articles related to the financial industry and would be grateful for your review of the edit request I put on the Talk page of Pretium's article. My suggestions are designed to expand the Background section of the article. If it is easier, and you approve my request, I can handle the implementation. Looking forward to collaborating. Thank you, B for Pretium (talk) 14:05, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

No, I will not be assisting with that. I don't involve myself in anything on Wikipedia related to paid editing. SouthernNights (talk) 16:04, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
