Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Abby Trott, you may be blocked from editing. Sorry but I don't understand why you'd source that kind of information from Instagram. For self-published sources, it depends. If I'm notable and I put my birthday on Facebook, I suppose you could use that to add or verify my birthday. But if I say on my Facebook that Notre Dame hired me as offensive coordinator or professor of Old English literature, that's a different thing, because we really need Notre Dame, or better yet, some actual secondary source to confirm the truth of that. And if I post that Notre Dame is paying me to do a bit of indexing for their website (which is a much smaller thing than a tenured job), you should wonder first of all if it's true, but secondly whether that is worth including in the encyclopedic article. And that's what we're dealing with here. Someone voicing something isn't noteworthy just because they did it; it becomes noteworthy if secondary sources notice it, or if it's so big that everyone understands it's important. Hi, I'm aware of the concern you pointed. As I left the comment on this edit, I'm currently trying to revise the whole article, and I myself have been thinking about making the intro shorter, such as by creating a separate section. Wikipedia doesn't have separate articles for Gamera as the character, and about the franchise. I have considered to separate it into character and franchise articles, but if I do so at this stage, the character article would be just a stub. Basically everything you did in the last weeks needs to be revised, sorry to say. First, your sentences are too long. And I mean wayyyyy to long, not just a little bit. Second, you want to explain everything and his little brother, in greatest detail and then some. That is wrong. You have clearly a fannish POV, and you try to write fan articles. WP is *not* the place for that. I clearly see your competence, you obviouly know what you write about. But I must strongly advise you, to refrain yourself from trying to put everything in the articles. WP is *NOT A FANPAGE*. I suppose this is the main problem with your edits.

Some minor problems: You use excessive notes to explain stuff in even more detail that is mostly already overexplained, and these notes are partially unsourced, hinting to OR/ POV. Don't. Use notes only if absolutely neccessary, not to further blow up an article. Use them wisely, and use them sparsely. Best: do not use them at all. If there is no place for the content of a note in your article, then that's a hint that it's unneccessary.

You sometimes say the same thing over and over again. You very often use sentences, that can easily be shortened just by rearranging them. You tend to use weasel words, although rarely, but you do.

So, in short:

Less Details.

Shorter sentences.

Lesser or no notes.

No redundance.

And remember: any intro of an article always mirrors the content of that article. It is not the place to put in details that are not mentioned anywhere else in the article. Basically, it is not the place for details at all.

To end on a constructive note:

If there is no general article about Gamera, then write one. I am sure that you are able to do that and have the sources for it. I suppose any Gamera article from you would be instantly more than a stub. For starters, some few sentences about the history of the film series, about the character itself and about its cultural impact plus a list of all the films would make it an article at instant. Some of this could probably be lifted from other Gamera articles, which lessens the workload.

As I said, I'm painfully aware of your concerns (sorry for my poor English). More than you think. The main issue is Wikipedia didn't have separate articles for the character and the franchise. I'm from Japan, having a language barrier here, and it will be not easy and quick to build appropriate articles from scratch. But I always felt the need to do so. Truly, apology for my English, but isn't it a different problem to question about who can contribute based on language barriers? Most of crucial literature about Gamera are available only in Japanese, and many of them are even out of prints. Well, the biggest turning point for my motivation was a comment by Gamera Rebirth's director that he hopes the series to contribute to help the franchise, and I concerned how small and insufficient Gamera-related articles are. Language barrier means understanding barrier. It all depends on how big the language barrier is. In your case I would say it is not especially high (I've seen worse), but visible. Just checked, there already is an Gamera article, which I personally would consider overlong, but will not shorten right now - I will need to read it carefully to see if I am right or wrong. As I said, I tried to find a translator and considered to pay (I admit it's problematic, would you suggest where I can find one?). And I argue that such amount of notes won't decline the article. I thank you for revising my grammar, but you have removed contents based on citations so I reverted your edits as a first step and revised them by myself. If you have problems, please ask me questions first. You simply reverted partially without revising. And nowhere did you give reasons for your edits. That alone is a problem. Wikipedia:Editing policy#Be helpful: explain

While explanatory notes are a vital part of WP, *your* amount of notes is indisputable. Explanatory notes should only be used when neccessary - not as own subarticles, like you do.

Please remember: WP is not a fanpage! You are using it as such. You ramble about details irrelevant to the article and only of interest to fans. You use three words, where one would suffice.

About the amount of notes, I'm talking about the article of Gamera Super Monster, not the article of Gamera which I'm trying to separate and to decrease notes. As I said, most of important Gamera literatures are only available in Japanese and many of them are out of prints, and English articles about Gamera had been very small and insufficient. If there hadn't been such problems, I wouldn't have edited English articles this much in the first place. AND I repeatedly told you that I tried to find a translator for me, but couldn't. What else options do I have in such a situation?
