Call for portal maintainers
Are there any editors from this WikiProject willing to maintain Portal:Kenya? The Portals guideline requires that portals be maintained, and as a result numerous portals have been recently been deleted via MfD largely because of lack of maintenance. Let me know either way, and thanks, UnitedStatesian (talk) 05:53, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
This topic is one I've been watching for some time - it piqued my interest not long ago. More later. Bokoharamwatch (talk) 18:13, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
Kisii people
Kisii people is almost exclusively made up of original research and could do with attention from someone with knowledge of the subject. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 19:38, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Villages and settlements - stubs without reliable sources
Most of the articles in Eastern Province (Kenya)#Villages and settlements are stubs created in 2010 based on an unreliable source, which was removed leaving them without any references, and many have not been improved since; there are similar stubs in the subcategories of Category:Kenya geography stubs for this and other provinces. One article (Gariba) was deleted in 2019, another (Karuari) was recently proposed for deletion and a reference has been added but the source is based on GEOnet Names Server and is still not enough without additional sources. Similar articles were deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Airagwani. Is there anything reliable to verify the designation of places in the list (and subcategories) as populated places, and if any are "populated, legally recognized places" considered notable under WP:GEOLAND? Maasai shúkà
Please see: Talk:Maasai people#Shúkà. The gist is that we have a section on clothing at that article, and a section on the same cloting/material at Tartan#Maasai shúkà, so we probably either need to do some merging or even have a separate article at Shúkà. I'm not sure exactly which is preferable. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 12:21, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
Could someone please look into improving Mau Mau rebellion?
It’s not just a high-importance Africa article, but a level-5 vital article overall, and it’s a measly B-class. The recent talk page isn’t full of discussions on article improvement but IPs complaining that it sucks. I’m not remotely familiar with the event, so could someone please look into this? Developing Countries WikiContest
Starting this July, we will see a new contest on the scene - the Developing Countries WikiContest (WP:DCWC)! Think of it as a WikiCup but only for articles and media on developing countries.
Competitors may submit GAs, GTs, FAs, FTs, FLs, FPs, and DYK and ITN entries from/on developing countries to gain points and proceed to further rounds. Points are also awarded to those who review GAs, FAs and FLs.
Kenya is listed as a developing country for the purposes of this contest, so articles related to it are eligible to be submitted for points. I encourage everyone here to sign up and compete with editors from around the world to create high-quality content!
Append your name to the DCWC signup page today!
Best wishes, Wilhelm Tell DCCXLVI (talk to me!/my edits) 11:13, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge

Kenya finance bill protests
WP:WikiProject Oral tradition
The DCWC is back!

WikiProject Kenya, the Developing Countries WikiContest will be returning for a second year, and sign-ups are now open! The contest will run from 1 July to 30 September, and the objective remains the same: improve as many articles relating to developing countries as you can to help fight systemic bias on Wikipedia.
In other news, we have a new face on the coordinator team this year: last year's sixth-place finisher, Arconning (talk · contribs)! The coordinators would like to extend a sincere thanks to Ixtal (talk · contribs), who is leaving the team, without whom the contest would not exist. After feedback from contestants last year, the scoring rules are undergoing some modifications; the new rules and a summary of the changes made will be posted to the contest talk page shortly.
If you have any questions, please leave a message on the contest talk page, use the {{@DCWC coordinators}} template, or contact one of the coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), or TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs). Proposed deletion of Moi Stadium

The article Moi Stadium has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged as Unreferenced for over 15 years. No other language has a sourced article from which to translate. Run of the mill stadium used by amateur teams.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Usage of British English tags on Commonwealth countries that do not have their own ENGVAR tags (on the basis of "Strong national ties to a topic")
@Pinchme123: Hello! Please see Talk:Kenyan English. I also posted at Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style#Usage_of_British_English_tags_on_Commonwealth_countries_that_do_not_have_their_own_ENGVAR_tags_(on_the_basis_of_"Strong_national_ties_to_a_topic").
Here is some information:
- Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#National_varieties_of_English "Strong national ties to a topic" says: "An article on a topic that has strong ties to a particular English-speaking nation should use the standard (formal, not colloquial) English of that nation." and "For topics with strong ties to the Commonwealth of Nations, or multiple Commonwealth countries or other former British territories, use British spelling."
- Template:Use Kenyan English was deleted. There is no template for specifically the formal standardized variety of academic English used in Kenya. See Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2025_November_24#Template:Use_Kenyan_English
- English is an official language of Kenya, so it is under "Strong national ties to a topic".

Request for help to clean up Mwale Medical and Technology City
I stumbled upon Mwale Medical and Technology City while browsing recent changes and found a number of issues around POV and inadequate sourcing with the article. I’m feeling a bit swamped by the sheer amount of changes I’m making and there’s not much engagement from editors who edit other pages. I’m concerned I’m making too many changes unilaterally and I’ve been removing lots of content I haven’t been able to replace. But each removal feels very justified and has come after a good deal of research trying to find replacements.
Basically, can I get some extra eyes on this page so I don’t end up rewriting the whole thing and injecting my own biases? SpelunkerOfMine (talk) 12:10, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
