Hey all, I have created the daughter of Genghis Khan Qojin an article, and think her native name would be useful for inclusion, like her father Genghis has "ᠲᠡᠮᠦᠵᠢᠨ" (Mongolian for Temüjin, per his Wikipedia page). I am unsure what Qojin's name would be. Are there any people proficient in the language to know? Or where can I find this information? jolielover♥talk 15:27, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

It's unlikely Jolielover. The modern traditional script is not the Middle Mongol script used when the medieval primary sources were compiled, so what you call "her native name" would actually be a transliteration. In addition, most modern Mongolian is written using the Cyrillic script, and the majority of Mongolians are not fluent in the traditional script. As a result, you only find reliably-sourced transliterations for the most important figures and entities in Mongol history. Qojin is a comparatively minor figure. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 15:51, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

I see. Thanks. jolielover♥talk 16:01, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

Hey WikiProject Mongols, the Developing Countries WikiContest is back for a third year, and sign-ups are now open! The contest will run from 1 July to 30 September, and the objective remains the same: improve as many articles relating to developing countries as you can to help fight systemic bias on Wikipedia.

Thanks to everyone who answered the call for coordinators, and please welcome the new faces on the coordinator team: the 2024 Gold Belt Buckle winner Generalissima (talk · contribs); and the record-holder for most India-related submissions in 2024, Magentic Manifestations (talk · contribs)! Following feedback from last year, adjustments have been made to the scoring rules; discussion can be found on the contest talk page.

If you have any questions, please leave a message on the contest talk page or contact one of the coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), Generalissima (talk · contribs), Magentic Manifestations (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), or TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs).
