Ahn Sung-ki ((en hangul, 안성기); Seúl, 1 de enero de 1952[1]– Seúl, 5 de enero de 2026)[2] fue un actor de cine surcoreano.[3][4]
Hijo del productor Ahn Hwa-yeong (안화영) y Kim Nam-hyeon, tenía un hermano mayor llamado, Ahn In-gi (안인기).
Estudió en la Universidad de Hankuk de Estudios Extranjeros (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Seoul Campus) donde se especializó en vietnamita. También estudió en la Korea University Graduate School.
Realizó su servicio militar después de graduarse de la Universidad, como oficial de artillería (primer teniente, 1974-1976), para el cual se ofreció como voluntario.
En 1985 se casó con la escultora y profesora universitaria Oh So-yeong, la pareja tuvo dos hijos, los pintores Ahn Da-bin (1988-) y Phillip Ahn (1991-).
Carrera
Debutó como actor infantil y a partir de 1980 ha aparecido en más de 100 películas, convirtiéndolo en uno de los actores internacionales más respetados de Corea.
Fue nombrado como embajador de la UNICEF.
El 23 de junio de 2012, junto al actor Lee Byung-hun se convirtieron en los primeros actores coreanos en dejar sus huellas, de manos y pies, en la explanada del Teatro Chino de Grauman en Hollywood.
El 31 de julio de 2019, apareció como uno de los personajes principales de la película The Divine Fury, donde dio vida al Padre Ahn, un exorcista del Vaticano.[5][6]
El 6 de agosto de 2021 firmó un contrato de exclusividad con Artist Company.[7]
Vida personal
Ahn era amigo cercano del cantautor Cho Yong-pil. Fueron amigos de la infancia y compañeros en la ahora desaparecida Kyungdong Middle School, y mantuvieron su amistad a pesar de asistir a escuelas secundarias distintas.[8][9]
Debido a su capacidad para hablar varios idiomas extranjeros, UNICEF nombró a Ahn como representante, y su imagen se ve a menudo en anuncios en aviones que viajan a Corea.[10]
En 2019, Ahn fue diagnosticado con cáncer de sangre. En 2025, fue hospitalizado en estado crítico tras atragantarse con comida en su residencia.[11][12] Ahn murió a los 74 años el 5 de enero de 2026.[12]
