Hello! I just wanted to point out that there's a recent Mainichi article that might provide some extra information for the page on Koshien Stadium. Apparently, a Kansas-based photographer donated some photos of the stadium, likely taken at the time of the U.S. occupation after World War II, to a local archive in Kobe. Obviously, I can't add this information myself, because of my language barrier, but I thought you might still find it useful. Hi everyone. The English "Korean Chinese in Japan" page (previously "Chaoxianzu in Japan") and the Japanese 「在日朝鮮族」page were made around the same time (2023/10) by 利用者:Strategicasian, who is now globally blocked for abusing multiple accounts to promote a disputed view around Chaoxianzu / Korean Chinese (en:Sockpuppet_investigations/Strategicasian/Archive). If you look at old revisions of the English page and the Google Translated version of the Japanese page, they are very similar. Furthermore, it was later found earlier this year, 2024/02/14 by @Dekimasu to have both original research and misinformation that was either unsourced and not supported by the source (WP:NOR). While I can't fix the problem myself as a non-Japanese speaker, it would be helpful if a bilingual editor could look over Dekimasu's 5 significant edits (-) that day on "Korean Chinese in Japan" and look over the「在日朝鮮族」page to remove the possible misinformation and original research. The English versions of Chaos Flare and Gear Antique were both deleted by AFD in 2018. I was hoping to see if someone knew of any reliable sources in Japanese to help restore them? They may have been reviewed in offline sources that would not easily be found online. I'd like to take it to the top (Featured) level, but for that I need to know if there are any Japanese-language sources about this (reviews, academic works). I would like to edit the English wikipedia page on en:Han Unification, and found a primary source talking about a particular proposal in opposition to Han Unification called "UTF-2000": (in English). I am a filemover on Wikimedia Commons an my work on the japanese language version of Wikipedia is mostly limited to replacing image filenames that have been renamed on Commons. The changes normaly made with a script that uses my Username. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me because of the Captcha. So I replace filesnames without this script manually. I also replace old png files with svg manually. Is it somehow possible to remove the captcha input from me, or do I just need more edits to make it go away? I am working on article of Margaret Sanger in English Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Sanger There is a book named "A Fight for Women's Happiness", written by Japanese politician Shizue Katō, that says that Sanger was the first foreigner (or the first woman foreigner) to speak to the Japanese Diet. Katō says that the speech was given on 15 April 1954, to the Public Welfare Committee of the Diet. I have some good sources for the speech, including the official minutes of the Diet. But I cannot find a good source that says she was the first foreigner to speak before the Diet (or a committee of the Diet). I'm not sure if that is true or not. Can someone help me? Is there a source that says that Margaret Sanger, in April 1954, was the first foreigner to give a speech to the Japanese Diet? Maybe a Japanese newspaper from April 1954? I confirm that Margaret Sanger attended the Public Welfare Committee of the Diet on April 15, 1954. Mr. Minoru Muramatsu interpreted the speech by Margaret Sanger. The source is the official minutes of the Diet, which is available in the internet, as shown in the post.

On the Kappei Yamaguchi article, his character for the Sakura Wars OVA is listed as "俵の千松" (Senmatsu the Bale). However, in the Japanese ending credits of said OVA (which can be seen on the DVD release), the character is actually listed as "猿の千松" (Senmatsu the Monkey), so it's a misreading. On the page for Kasuga Taisha there is the provided English name 英: Kasugataisha Shrine. Why do so many articles have this? That one in particular seems out of place, since it is a Japanese building. In Japan, it is not uncommon for juridical people to have an English name. The trade name of kabushiki kaisha is specified in the articles. It is not uncommon for kabushiki kaisha to have an English trade name in its articles. For example, トヨタ自動車株式会社 uses the English name "Toyota Motor Corporation". Similarly, it is not uncommon for some shukyo hojin to have English names.

However, there are various ways to write the names of Shinto shrines in English. In recent years, ○○神社 is written as "○○ Jinja" in English and less often as "○○ Shrine" in English. For example, 神宮 is called "Ise Jingu" in English, is not called "Ise Shrine" in English. 明治神宮 calls itself "Meiji Jingu" in English. 神社本庁 calls itself "Jinja Honcho" in English.

I removed 氏子調 from the category 郷社 but undid it because it does not appear to be a blatant error like I thought. Should this be included in it though? First, check the Wikipedia: Guidelines for creating an independent article page to see if the article you want to create meets the creation criteria, such as whether there is a site that cites it as a source (whether it is a personal site), etc. If the criteria are met and there is no history of deletion, you can go ahead and create it.--by 221tamtam/Talk 2025年11月5日 (水) 13:24 (UTC)

To be more precise, I wanted to confirm whether the specific title “Matthias Manasi” has any past deletion or creation protection on ja.wikipedia.  

If there was a prior deletion, I was planning to file an undeletion request or ask for administrator guidance.

コメント As User:Amayus pointed out, the article about conductor Matthias Daniel Manasi is subject to a cascading protection on the Dutch Wikipedia, and there are also several deletion logs related to Matthias Manasi on the Japanese Wikipedia. The log checked by User:TillmannL contains an error in the specified URL. Once an agreement is reached, I will come back here with an updated, well-sourced and fully neutral draft proposal.

Hi everyone. So due to my inability to actually read Japanese I felt the need to contact the users on Japanese Wikipedia regarding a dispute that has been ongoing on English Wikipedia. The article in concern is Order of precedence in Japan (Imperial family), for which we do not have an equivalent page here. The question is whether the Emperor of Japan should be included in such a list or not. A user on the talk page argued that precedence is set based on "regulations before WWII", and as such the Emperor is excluded. This makes zero sense to me as, for example, in the Orders of precedence in the United Kingdom the King or the sovereign always comes first and I presume that is the case in Japan as well; meaning that the Emperor takes the primary spot during state occasions, walks ahead of others, etc. I'd be glad if users who have knowledge of this topic and can obviously read Japanese texts help settle this debate. In Japan, "the Imperial Family" refers to two terms:

1. Kōshitsu (ja:皇室), the Imperial Household, including the Emperor (Tennō) and his relatives (Kōzoku).
2. Kōzoku (ja:皇族), the members of the Imperial Family, excluding the Emperor.

While Japanese Wikipedia has separate articles for these terms, the Imperial Household Agency's English website does not distinguish between them and simply translates them as "the Imperial Family."

The law that established the hierarchy (order) of the Imperial Family excluding the Emperor (Kōzoku Shin'i Rei, ja:皇族身位令) was abolished in 1947, but it continues to function as a legacy. This is defined separately from the right of succession to the throne.--火乃狐（会話） 2026年1月19日 (月) 04:44 (UTC)
