The 2026–27 Washington Wizards season will be the 66th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and 53rd in the Washington, D.C. area. After finishing with the worst record in 2025–26, the Wizards won the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery.

The Wizards will enter the draft holding one original first-round selection and two second-round picks acquired through previous trades.[1][2] The first-round selection landed first overall, having tied with the best odds after finishing with the worst record in the previous season. The Wizards' original second-round selection was traded to the Houston Rockets as an exchange for John Wall in 2020 and is expected to be used by the New York Knicks, after Washington's lottery-protected first-round selections from 2022 to 2026 did not convey due to consecutive playoff misses during those years.[3]
