History
The product was originally launched under the name Adobe Captivate Prime and was later rebranded as Adobe Learning Manager.[1] It was developed to complement Adobe's existing e-learning authoring tool, Adobe Captivate. The launch coincided with the release of Adobe Captivate 9,[2] which added native publishing support to the new platform.
Analyst Coverage
In February 2024, Forrester Research included Adobe Learning Manager in The Forrester WaveTM: Learning Management Systems and Experience Platforms, Q1 2024,[3] an evaluation of eleven learning platform providers accessed across 29 criteria covering current offering, strategy and market presence.
In December 2024, Adobe Learning Manager was assessed in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Employee Experience for Learning Experience Management, 2024 Vendor Assessment,[4] an evaluation of vendors in the learning experience management market.
In March 2026, Brandon Hall Group,[5] an independent human capital management research and analyst firm, published a platform assessment of Adobe Learning Manager evaluating its technical architecture, customer deployment patterns, AI roadmap and support model. The assessment noted the platform had been adopted by more than 800 enterprise customers across industries including technology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and retail.
