Sandrina England[1]

Sandrina England is a Maltese artist, iconographer, and fashion designer. She is well known for her tempera wood iconography and main exhibitions took place in Malta, United Kingdom, and France. [2] [3]

Biography

Sandrina was born in 1963 in St. Julian's, Malta. She moved to the United Kingdom to study at Saint Martin's School of Art. Following her art education, she traveled to France to formally train as an iconographer at Le Monastère de L'Enfant Jésus, where she developed her specialization in religious and tempera art. [4]

This atmosphere can be seen in The Malta Independent quote:

"In all of my sacred projects I have evoked, prayed and requested Divine help and guidance, for I believe in the words of Psalm 127:1 'if the Lord is not helping the builders, the building is of no purpose'." — Prof. Richard England. Benoît, Marie (21 November 2016). "Marie's Diary: 'Keep going Richard, keep going'". The Malta Independent.

England's career is divided between fine arts (religious iconography), and fashion design.

In 2011, part of her work was documented in the book Angels, warriors and saints icons: Sandrina England, edited by the philosopher and former University of Malta rector Peter Serracino Inglott, with contributions from the prominent Maltese architect p, her father, Richard England (check the publications).
