PT Tentrem Sejahtera (commonly referred to as "Tentrem") is a bus bodywork company based in Malang, East Java. It also operates an intercity bus operator of the same name, Tentrem.
Tentrem Bodywork traces its roots to the founding of the Tentrem bus operator, which operated in Malang City in 1986. Initially, the bodywork was simply a maintenance workshop for Tentrem's entire bus fleet. In 1988, the bus operator, led by Tatang Wahyudi, decided to open the workshop to the public. Not only for internal Tentrem services, but they also began providing bus bodywork, service, and maintenance to all customers from various bus companies. After a long period of existence, Tatang Wahyudi's hard work finally paid off. Karoseri Tentrem has successfully received an official certificate from Mercedes-Benz for bus body builder standardization for Mercedes-Benz bus chassis and is also the first body builder in Indonesia to build bodies for Scania K380iB bus chassis. [1]

The Avante series is a premium bus segment ("coach") and is widely used for tourism, inter-city and inter-provincial transportation (AKAP), and inter-city within-province transportation (AKDP). The Avante series was launched in 2016 and is the successor to the previously available Scorpion X body. The Avante series is unique in that it uses a "double windscreen" concept, better known as double glass, with a tilted upper window for improved aerodynamics. The first operator to use this body was PO Harapan Jaya, which uses a Super High Deck body type supported by a Scania K360IB chassis.[2] At the time of its launch, this body was available in two variants, namely the Avante HDD type High Deck and the Avante SHD type Super High Deck, which is higher and has a larger luggage capacity.
Avante H-Series and D-Series
At the 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), Tentrem introduced the second generation of the Avante series, with a sharper design. At this event, Tentrem introduced the Double Decker variant named Avante D2, [3] which is the first time Tentrem has produced a double-decker bus. At this event, Tentrem also introduced new variants of the HDD and SHD, while retaining the "double windshield" design, named the Avante H7 and Avante H9.
In early 2020, Tentrem re-introduced the Avante H8 variant, [4] which has a trunk height equivalent to the Avante H9, but with a lower height. This variant is intended for chassis with a narrow air suspension such as the Hino RN285 and Mercedes-Benz OH 1626, [4] because chassis with a narrow air suspension are no longer recommended for building super high bodies due to the type of suspension that affects the stability of the bus. [5]
The Avante D1 was launched in mid-2021, as the low drive or Ultra High Deck variant of the Avante series. This variant was first used by PO Harapan Jaya, which is supported by the Scania K410IB chassis and uses camera mirrors.[6]
Grand Captain
Tentrem again refreshed (facelift) the Avante series in early 2023, which was then showcased at Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2023. At the event, Tentrem showcased almost all Avante facelift variants, including the Avante H7 Priority, Avante H8, Avante D2, and introduced the "Grand Captain" variant, a body subvariant that has a sleeper seat installed by adding a deck above the driver's area,[7] thus providing a wide view to passengers in the seat. The Avante Grand Captain is paired with two variants, namely the Avante H9 which is supported by the Volvo B11R chassis, and the Avante H8 which is supported by the Volvo B8R chassis. The launch of the Avante H8 Grand Captain also marked the launch of the Volvo B8R Euro 5 in Indonesia.[8]

Velocity
Tentrem presents the Velocity series for urban buses. Initially, the Velocity series was a rebranding of Laksana Cityline 2, along with Trisakti Transliner, Rahayu Sentosa Cityliner, and Restu Ibu Metrotrans, which were orders for the Transjakarta fleet.[9] In addition, the medium long bus variant is used as the Royaltrans fleet, a premium class service provided by Transjakarta.

With the "Buy the Service" program Teman Bus by the Directorate General of Land Transportation Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, at the end of 2020, PT Bengawan Solo Trans operated 30 units of the Tentrem Velocity W3 medium long variant to serve Corridor 1 of Batik Solo Trans.[11]
At the end of 2021, along with the expansion of the Bus Friend program to two other major cities, Bandung and Surabaya, Tentrem launched the latest generation of the Velocity series. First shown at the launch of the Trans Semanggi Suroboyo service,[12] namely the Tentrem Velocity W5 Lowdeck, which is the first large low-floor bus variant of Karoseri Tentrem, besides the airport apron bus series. This was followed by the launch and operation of the "medium" bus variant, the Tentrem Velocity W1, owned by Trans Metro Pasundan, which is equipped with a low rear floor and a ramp to accommodate wheelchair users.
