This is a list of electricity-generating power stations in the U.S. state of Rhode Island, sorted by type and name. In 2024, Rhode Island had a total summer capacity of 2.3 GW through all of its power plants, and a net generation of 9,777 GWh.[2] In 2025, the electrical energy generation mix was 87.5% natural gas, 7.9% solar, 1.9% biomass, 1.9% wind, and 0.7% petroleum.[1] In May 2017, the first U.S. offshore wind farm began operating off Block Island.
