Articles should not be merged
The article Bloody raid on the Bloody Raid on Gunich Village in Khash and the article Zahedan massacre are two completely different topics and news. The Zahedan massacre happened in 2022 and has a specific topic. The Bloody Raid on Gunich Village in Khash happened in 2025 and the topic of the sentence is a village in Khash. The article Bloody raid on the village of Gonich in Khash was a bit ambiguous, but I improved them. This merger is not correct and they should not be merged. 2022 Zahedan massacre → 2022 Zahedan killlings – The common name is not currently massacre, as various sources use the terminology "kill" and its variants (killed, killing, etc.) rather than "massacre" and its variants. , , , , , , , ,

- Weak oppose - the number of sources isn't entirely relevant compared to the quality of sources. The ones we have using the term "massacre" are fairly well-known and reliable English sources (nytimes, the guardian for example) and simply counting the sources is flawed as it doesn't even take into account non-English sources, which while not prevalent in our usage can still be considered relevant. The strongest source here for "killings" is Washington Post, which refers to it as a "crackdown" firstly, as well as apnews, which the Winipeg City News article is actually reprinting. "Crackdown" would not be a suitable title here. (interestingly, coverage of AP indicates they take extreme caution in use of terms such as this, examples of which can be found with a Google search.) Sahib-e-Qiran, EasternShah 16:28, 24 March 2026 (UTC)- I can certainly see the logic behind that. I'm hoping the project notifications will get some more participation here to take a closer look. I'm still leaning toward massacre as it is but am open to being convinced otherwise having seen AP's avoidance of the term. ASUKITE 17:29, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
