- ... that due to the 2025 Turkey water crisis, 88% of its land area is facing desertification?
- ALT1: ... that Turkey is facing its worst drought in the last 50 years? Source: https://phys.org/news/2025-09-turkey-worst-drought-years.html

- Comment If you are in Turkey and don't have a VPN to read Turkish Minute see pages 21 and 22 of https://www.unccd.int/sites/default/files/2025-07/Drought%20Hotspots%202023-2025_ENG.pdf
- Comment I don't think "amid" can be replaced by "due to" in this instance. -

- Strong oppose per Wikipedia:Did_you_know/Reviewer_instructions#Review_the_article(s) #3. The article does not seem well-sourced. It seems to be mostly sourced by low quality news sources. Bogazicili (talk) 19:36, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Bogazicili: If you have time it would be great if you or any other native speaker could expand tr:Vikipedi:Güvenilir kaynaklar/Mütemadi kaynaklar - I can't speak for the nominator but sometimes it is hard for me to judge the quality of a foreign language source. Having said that I should be able to fix a few of the English language cites - for example I don't know Agenzia Nova but hopefully would be able to find a source I know to be reliable for the minister's statement. Are there claims in the article you find particularly important which are poorly cited? Chidgk1 (talk) 12:38, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry, I do not have the time. I also think news sources should be limited anyway. Doesn't matter if they seem reliable in a place like Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources. They are still lower quality sources. Sometimes, for recent and ongoing events, you have to use news sources because academia hasn't caught up yet. But I think creating an entire article, 2025 Turkey water crisis, based mostly on news sources in this case is WP:COAT. These issues should be covered in Drought in Turkey and Climate change in Turkey with DUE weight. Bogazicili (talk) 15:13, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

This must go on hold as it is at AfD.--Launchballer 23:04, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
Article's been kept; an actual review needed.--Launchballer 22:51, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
The article counts as new and long enough. The article looks good (though I am not a fan of single-paragraph sections) and cites plenty of sources. I see no neutrality or copyright issues. I like ALT1: it is simple and likely to draw attention. Thanks, TonyFerro. Surtsicna (talk) 18:16, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Don't know why https://cevreselgostergeler.csb.gov.tr/en/use-of-freshwater-resources-i-86001 is not up to date. Perhaps Turkstat has more recent data or https://www.dsi.gov.tr/ (only Turkish)

Hi Chidgk1,Could you please be more specific about the links you posted, not sure i follow your meaning TonyFerro (talk) 09:23, 9 October 2025 (UTC)- Sorry I have not looked into these in detail so not sure if actually useful. But we need to get rid of Daily Sabah. I am not a native speaker of Turkish - are you? If so perhaps you could look around the DSI website to see whether it has anything relevant about this year. As the other links are in English they are easier for native English speakers like me. Chidgk1 (talk) 07:31, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
