Hi ip-editor, I have changed into "after destroying 95% of the hospital" with the help of your source. However, is the destruction of a hospital a victory? The sources you gave us don't use the word victory. Lova Falk (talk) 06:55, 19 September 2025 (UTC)

2024

"One eyewitness said that, on the eve of the raid, they spotted hundreds of Hamas and Islamic Jihad members inside the hospital. The eyewitness, who spoke to CNN on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals, estimated about 400 to 500 Hamas and Islamic Jihad members and their families arrived at the hospital in mid-March. Some of them appeared to be members of Hamas’ political branch, while others were armed militants. The eyewitness said some of the militants were carrying guns inside the hospital." https://edition.cnn.com/2024/03/28/middleeast/gaza-shifa-hospital-raid-israel-war-explainer-intl/index.html 176.229.31.93 (talk) 08:43, 20 September 2025 (UTC)

I ask to add this report 176.229.31.93 (talk) 08:48, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
However, your source also says: "CNN is unable to independently verify the numbers due to lack of reporting access to the strip, and has asked the Gaza health ministry for comment." Now lack of reporting access to the strip is a fact, but we would like to have more than just one eyewitness who tells this. So I oppose adding this to the article, unless there are more sources saying saying the same. Lova Falk (talk) 17:41, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
There are plenty of claims in the article with the same level of evidence, for example A witness reported "wild dogs" had been eating the unburied dead bodies. So either we should adopt a stricter standard throughout the article or we should include this claim too, with proper attribution/caveats. CNN is a reliable source. Alaexis¿question? 19:09, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
Hi Alaexis! Two wrongs don’t make a right. Yes, CNN is a reliable source, but an unconfirmed eyewitness account is not the kind of information we want in the article. You are quite right that we should adopt a stricter standard throughout the article if there are other weak claims, but adding another one won’t improve the article. I don't have access to the Telegraph so I cannot read whether it relies on a single eyewitness or several. If it is just one, yes I would delete it. Suggestions for correcting this entry

Isn't it better to simply change the outcome to an Israeli victory and leave only the fact that Israel destroyed 95% of the hospital rather than making a list of everything that happened in the outcome? It's simply unnecessary + why present the siege as part of "genocide" when in fact the IDF was only fighting Hamas terrorists in the hospital? 2A02:14F:1FB:3B70:D0D0:72A6:114F:281 (talk) 17:58, 23 September 2025 (UTC)

Doubled up words

It says in the article "Alice Rothchild, the director of Jewish Voice for Peace, stated noted Israel's lack of hard evidence of military operations at al-Shifa, stating, "Israeli sources have a long history of not being very accurate.". I'm not sure how to articulate it but there is some sort of mistake here. ~2026-36537-88 (talk) 09:51, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
