... that Evie MacDonald transitioned aged nine?
Created by Waterbearboogers (talk) and Launchballer (talk).
Number of QPQs required: 1. Nominator has 393 past nominations.
Launchballer 06:22, 3 May 2026 (UTC).
Nominated 9 days after creation which is technically outside the 7-day window though we can allow for 2 additional days as the article creator is fairly new and still getting their bearings (i.e. working on getting unblocked). It is long enough (safely above 1500 words even after it was shortened). A lot of work has gone into improving the sourcing which is important because this is a WP:BLP. The tone is neutral and Earwig says copyvio is unlikely. The article looks tidy enough and the QPQ is done. Don't think ALT0 quite works because a lot of people will have never heard of Evie MacDonald; also, not sure it's particularly unusual for children to transition in a lot of places now even if it was more unusual in Australia back then. @Launchballer: Any ALT hooks? Cielquiparle (talk) 05:32, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- Not sure you need to know who MacDonald is to understand the hook as people transitioning at a young age is hardly common (okay, Kim Petras is hardly unknown but her hook was basically "youngest-ever to transition" and that was the highest-scoring hook since November 2024 if you ignore VPH), but sure.
- ALT1:
... that Evie MacDonald was one of ten trans children photographed for a 2016 portrait series? - ALT2: ... that a campaign by Evie MacDonald and her family helped stop minors like her from needing a family court to access gender-affirming care?
- ALT3: ... that Evie MacDonald became the first out trans person to play the lead role in an Australian TV program aged 12?--Launchballer 16:06, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
Approving ALT2 and ALT3 only. ALT0 is too vague and ALT1 doesn't sound that interesting. Cielquiparle (talk) 06:31, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
