Mărturisesc deschis, aveam o prejudecată defavorabilă față de domnia sa. Ea s-a risipit în cursul dialogului nostru. Dl Gelu Voican-Voiculescu este un personaj insolit, aproape ireal, liber de orice inhibiții. El își asumă dezinvolt, ca și cum ar vorbi de cel mai obișnuit fapt, inițiativa execuției cuplului Ceaușescu. De cum a aflat — oarecum întîmplător —, dintr-o conversație cu g-ralul Victor A. Stănculescu, că cei doi Ceaușescu erau în cazarma de la Tîrgoviște, a îndemnat la suprimarea lor și a stăruit pînă cînd dl Ion Iliescu, care ar fi avut mari rezerve în privința acestei soluții expeditive (spune dl Voican-Voiculescu), a sfîrșit prin a se lăsa convins. 2.
