Narration

While this is properly sourced as is, and a solid B-Class article, it is missing many examples and some comparisons. With these improvements, it will easily become a Good Article. Can somebody please work on it? Bearian (talk) 16:19, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of List of contemporary writers from northern Uruguay

Notice

The article List of contemporary writers from northern Uruguay has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged as Unreferenced for 15 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article or list from which to translate. Unsourced, it implicates WP:BLP. In ordinary times, not a big problem, but nowadays, this is a legal risk. This is a fork of List of Uruguayan writers.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 03:06, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

The Path to Rome at FAC

Hello all, I have recently nominated Hilaire Belloc's fantastic 1902 travelogue The Path to Rome for Featured Article status and would appreciate any input and (hopefully) support there. It should appeal to anyone interested in European literature (especially British) or literature from around the turn of the 19th century. ThaesOfereode (talk) 20:58, 26 January 2026 (UTC)

Does winning the Sahitya Akademi Award mean an author is notable?

Is there a consensus on whether winning the Sahitya Akademi Award gives notability? I ask because @R Ashwani Banjan Murmu has created a lot of AI-generated articles about award-winners, and the first is up for AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lakshman Chandra Saren. It is obviously AI-generated without human review, so in breach of WP:NOLLM but @BhikhariInformer argued that winning the Sahitya Akademi Award makes the author notable. It would be useful to have consensus on this, but perhaps there has already been a discussion on it and I am just not aware of it? I also just PRODed another AI-generated article about a translator who won a translation award from the Sahitya Akademi, Sobha Nath Beshra. See Wikipedia:WikiProject AI Cleanup/Noticeboard#User:R Ashwani Banjan Murmu for the discussion about the series of AI-generated articles about award winners. Lijil (talk) 05:54, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

  • Leaning Yes: Jnanpith Award is the highest and Sahitya Academy Award is the 2nd highest honor for Literature in India. The highest and second highest honors for Literature in any country are significant honors, and probably enough to meet the #1 criterion of WP:ANYBIO. But if the consensus leans towards discarding them, we will have a pile of articles that should be deleted – the ones that exited AFD safely, solely because of winning these. Wikipedia:Notability (ELIT)

Please consider assisting with building out Wikipedia:Notability (ELIT) and/or contributing to the conversation regarding this proposed new guideline. -- Rosiestep (talk) 22:28, 9 April 2026 (UTC)

Thank you. This should be notability specifically for electronic literature. Electronic literature works use text as well as elements other than text to convey meaning. LoveElectronicLiterature (talk) 03:40, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
