Location maps available for infoboxes of European countries
As this outcome cannot justify reverting of new maps that had become used for some countries, seconds before February 5, 2007 a survey started that will be closed soon at February 20, 2007 23:59:59. It should establish two things:
- whether the new style maps may be applied as soon as some might become available for countries outside the European continent (or such to depend on future discussions),
- which new version (with of without indicating the entire European Union by a separate shade) should be applied for which countries.
There mustnot be 'oppose' votes; if none of the options would be appreciated, you could vote for the option you might with some effort find least difficult to live with - rather like elections only allowing to vote for one of several candidates. Obviously, you are most welcome to leave a brief argumentation with your vote. Kind regards. — SomeHuman 00:25, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Change "although it is closest to Greenland (290 kilometres; 155 nautical miles), an island of North America" to "although it is closest to Greenland (290 kilometres; 155 nautical miles), an autonomous territory in the Kingdom of Denmark".
As per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenland Lexicon211 (talk) 03:59, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
Not done: As the sentence in question relates to the physical geography of Iceland, it is more appropriate to mention Greenland's physical location in North America than to reference its political status. Day Creature (talk) 05:26, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
- what is more political than claiming that Greenland is an island of North America?
- Physical geography would claim it to be part of the North American tectonic plate
- Why make an implied political connection when none is needed?
- Just delete the ", an island of North America" in total or correctly and unbiasedly say "part of the North American tectonic plate". ~2026-35955-3 (talk) 06:52, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
Should this not have the Category of Former Danish colonies?
why is the only category for former norwegian colony? Doctor spelling (talk) 21:42, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- For some reason the History of Iceland article is put into the Danish colony category under "Danish Iceland". I think that this arrangement is unnecessarily confusing. This article should be in both the colony categories and the history article should be in neither. Stefán Örvar Sigmundsson (talk) 22:11, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

There is a missing capital “T” in the word “The” at the beginning of the sentence following footnote 41. Shoebox12 (talk) 14:59, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
Already done. NotJamestack (talk) 13:16, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
Greenland an island of North America already??
Iceland is closer to continental Europe than to mainland North America, although it is closest to Greenland (290 kilometres; 155 nautical miles), an island of North America ~2026-35955-3 (talk) 06:39, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
- ? Greenland is part of the North American Plate and Iceland sits between the North American Plate and the Eurasian Plate Wilk10 (talk) 13:58, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
