- Sources: Ways and Works in India (1894), p. 94 Quote: "Another very early example of an iron road bridge is the singular but pleasing structure built over the Gumti at Lucknow." (Note: The first example discussed in that chapter is the Sagar Iron Suspension Bridge which opened in 1830, 15 years before the iron bridge in Lucknow...Most modern sources simply refer to the old iron bridge in Lucknow as the "first iron bridge in India", which is technically incorrect if you go by completion date...hence the revised wording in the hook to say "one of the earliest".)

Long enough, new enough. Backlog mode requires an extra QPQ per nomination, not per article, and as such I've checked the first three only. Earwig is clean. I'll check the hook another time.--Launchballer 11:47, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- I can't access any of the three sources for the first claim. It does seem like a 'they're complex enough that missing one would be difficult', but is there a source about that lists all of them?--Launchballer 19:03, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- Working on it. Will excerpt all the relevant passages either way. So far it is solid that this was the first iron bridge. It is the numbering of all the bridges afterwards that is unclear. Cielquiparle (talk) 04:36, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

- @Launchballer: FYI. I have updated 2 of the QPQs above – swapped out 2 that I used on the other iron bridge article I wrote as I got confused. (Actually this article nomination was first but since this nomination is still under review, I updated this one.)
