Protection (?)
Howdy! Dang, seems like there'd already be a talkpage for this article. Oh, well. Starting it here. Anyway, scrolling through the edit history, it seems as though there've been a few smatterings of vandalism here and there. Particularly in light of this, and with the subject being a recently elected politician, is a degree of protection in order? At least while he's in office, I'd think. All in favor say "Aye!" or somesuch. Atomic putty? Rien! 15:38, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- (It seems like individual editors have done a good job controlling the sporadic vandalism so far, but if we could take a load off their backs by adding a little protection, I'm sure it would be welcomed ^-^) Atomic putty? Rien! 15:42, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
Inclusion of Vote on Anti-Trans Policy
Hello, I seem to be engaged in somewhat of an edit war over Ossoff's views on the LGBTQ community. The text included was as follows.
"Ossoff voted in favour of S. 1071, a bill that restricted the rights of trans servicewomen to compete in sports at military academies, as well as rules that erased non-binary identities. It was the first federal ban on trans athletes." with sources cited. This was removed allegedly synthesising research. I disagree It's a simple statement of fact that he voted for this bill which had anti-trans policies in it. I wonder if someone could weigh in on a phrasing that would stick, as I feel it's very important to include on this page. Link to revision. Jmdfry (talk) 11:28, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- What we need is a reliable secondary source that covers this specific vote. Role call votes aren't sufficient criteria alone for including a vote, as members of Congress take hundreds if not thousands of votes in their careers. We need supporting sourcing to show that any particular vote is noteworthy enough to include here. Marquardtika (talk) 21:41, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- Would this be considered an appropriate source for this purpose?
