Coren search bot
I started this article by splitting off some content from the Village article, as noted in my edit summary. The Coren serach bot notice seems to reflect another site mirroring that content. OrganicEarth (talk) 14:40, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Splitting proposal
The Khmer language term (កំពង់) is etymologically unrelated to kampung in the Austronesian languages. While there are almost certainly cases where the Cham minority does have their own word and thus used it more similar to how it is in Malaysia and Indonesia, the Khmer term in Cambodia is used noticeably used only for place names. These seem to be 2 different topics which are only coincidentally similar to a degree. TansoShoshen (talk) 21:41, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
