can we add the registration number to the aircraft caption?
Last time someone ask this on the talk page but there were not much discussion. I want to add the registration number in the caption. It currently said . Zaptain United (talk) 20:24, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Background
I would like to suggest a review of the background section of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 article to ensure it maintains appropriate balance and clarity. Because this article covers a tragic and widely scrutinized event, maintaining clarity and strong sourcing in the Background section will help preserve encyclopedia standards and readers' trust. Information Flight MH370
According to my research, this flight Amaze 370 crashed towards the point of origin. Their router was down, but the location could also be in the opposite direction. ~2026-12131-24 (talk) 19:59, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

Stop removing presumed
@Guninvalid if you really want to remove it you need to discuss it here and have people agree, it clearly states in the 2nd paragraph that all deaths are still presumed, you can't simply remove (presumed) from the infobox just because you felt like it. its been like that almost forever. - Do we have any similar examples? I'm looking at missing aircraft and 1956 B-47 disappearance is similar, Canadian Pacific Air Lines Flight 3505 is different, LIAT Flight 319 is also similar – The Grid (talk) 13:00, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
You are exactly right on the the 1956 B-47 disappearance and LIAT Flight 319, the third row CLEARLY states "With all 227 passengers and 12 crew aboard presumed dead. The Notable Example section inside the linked article will tell you everything you need to know. Megabyte21 (talk) 00:25, 19 May 2026 (UTC)WP:SOCKSTRIKE. Aviationwikiflight (talk) 08:56, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Presumed dead links to an article that says they are considered dead. Even if we don't have records that someone died persay, reputable sources have deemed them dead, so we record them as dead. guninvalid (talk) 01:46, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- At this point, especially, the suggestion that anybody on MH 370 is not dead is decidedly WP:FRINGE. - The Bushranger One ping only 03:05, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
:Now what do we do with 1956 B-47 disappearance and LIAT Flight 319? Should get rid of presumed there too. Megabyte21 (talk) 04:17, 19 May 2026 (UTC)WP:SOCKSTRIKE. Aviationwikiflight (talk) 08:56, 29 June 2026 (UTC)And Flying Tiger Line Flight 739, Varig Flight 967, Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 2501, Pakistan International Airlines Flight 404 and the list keeps going, but i understand, lets do it guninvalid's way. Megabyte21 (talk) 04:40, 19 May 2026 (UTC)WP:SOCKSTRIKE. Aviationwikiflight (talk) 08:56, 29 June 2026 (UTC)- I'm sorry if it comes off as
"lets do it guninvalid's way"
. I am not the self-appointed czar of Wikipedia, nor would I want such a title. Wikipedia runs on WP:CONSENSUS, and the existing consensus was that such a descriptor is unneeded. There have been other cases where I have argued one way and consensus has been against me; it's a fact of life. @Megabyte21, you and @Boeing737MAX9 are free to try to argue to change consensus because WP:CONSENSUSCANCHANGE. But the arguments you have provided so far do not align with Wikipedia's WP:POLICIES and WP:GUIDELINES. While it is hypothetically true that there is a hypothetical chance that someone aboard MH370 survived the incident, for Wikipedia to say so, it must meet the Wikipedia policy of WP:Verifiability, which is only possible if it is based on WP:Reliable sources. However, most sources, particularly those more than a few years out, presume that the passengers are dead. guninvalid (talk) 08:17, 19 May 2026 (UTC)Im not going to argue any further, logically they are dead but we need to change the rest of the articles i mentioned with (presumed) still there. - I'm sorry if it comes off as
- I don't know the details of those particular cases, but if it's wrong here, it can be wrong there too. You're making a WP: OTHERSTUFFEXISTS argument. guninvalid (talk) 08:08, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
