In the section "Disinformation campaigns", as well as "Claims by Israeli officials and army", this phrase is repeated: "In June 2024, Israel's Ministry of Diaspora Affairs was revealed to have paid $2 million to Israeli political consulting firm Stoic, to conduct a social media campaign, fueled by fake accounts and often employing misinformation, targeting 128 American Congresspeople, with a focus on Democratic and African-American members of the House of Representatives. Websites were also created to provide young, progressive Americans with Gaza news with a pro-Israel spin."

I would like to request the creation of a Chinese-language version of this article (Misinformation in the Gaza war) on the Chinese Wikipedia.

This article contains significant information and would benefit Chinese-speaking readers if a translated version were available.

Suggested approach: - Create a new Chinese Wikipedia article with a faithful translation of the English article - Keep structure consistent with the original page - Ensure neutrality and accuracy in translation

If possible, I am willing to assist with the translation process or provide a draft version.

Description of suggested change: Suppression of recent addition about "dog rape" being misinformation. This is contradicted by: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_and_gender-based_violence_against_Palestinians_during_the_Gaza_war#Use_of_dogs Also the source used to discredit those claims (2026), is an article dated October 2025, from honestreporting.com (pro-Israel media).

Being partisan is rather par for the course for an article about misinformation and such sources can be used with attribution on Wikipedia if due. Neither of them counts as a reliable source though so yes agree with removal, might as well stick with halfway reliable sources that talk about misinformation. It is up to the person inserting stuff to do basic searches. Opinion pieces do not normally qualify as RS but I think this one is probably okay because the writer has won a Pulitzer prize in a relevant area so would qualify as a recognised expert. NadVolum (talk) 19:51, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

I strongly oppose to it.

This article should mention misinformation, that is, false information clearly identified as such by reliable and independent source. This article is not a place for a list of facts denied by one of the parties.

The simple mention of an information in this article is enough to bias readers toward thinking the claim is misinformation, or that there is at least some evidence that it is.

Also, you restored the content to:

"In 2026 claims alleging that Israel trained dogs to sexually assault Palestinians were reported. The Israel Prison Service has denied the allegations."

This is not satisfactory, precise statement of the claims is important here.

It diminish the claims and do not state the alleged crimes.

Looking at this again, the NYT article does not call it misinformation or anything like that. In fact showing it is misinformation would be difficult which I guess is why it has spread. Thw NYT article should be in Sexual and gender-based violence against Palestinians during the Gaza war as an allegation if anywhere. Therefore I'm going with the original request to just delete the paragraph here. NadVolum (talk) 08:23, 14 May 2026 (UTC)

Is there not more Misinformation/Disinformation from the Palestinian side of all this? I remember a lot of things being put out by that side, shared by hundreds of people on various social networking and social media websites...including by fake accounts. What about the many false claims that Israel faked the 7th October attack to justify attacking Gaza? What about the repeated false claims of Israel DELIBERATELY targeting Civilians in order to "enact a Genocide" on the Palestinians? That was misinformation/disinformation too. Surely it can't be too difficult to find these things? For the moment, a large amount of all on the page is implying a very heavy bias against Israel. For the sake of balance, I think more research/hunting/digging needs to be done.
