Year Zero (album) listed for featured article review

I have nominated Year Zero (album) for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets the featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" in regards to the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Kind regards, Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 22:08, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

I never realized until just now how biased some of the article reads. Previous versions of the article were more grounded in the album's critical reception. There were at least 2 or 3 negative/average-leaning reviews of the album in the Reception section, but, looks like someone cut them out at one point (personally, I remember the album being slightly derided as "Trent's laptop album" at the time, though I'm unsure if actual publications used that phrase or if just circulated amongst the fanbase).
And yeah, I agree that there's not enough spotlight on the actual songs. Seems to be put on the backburner.
These are just random quips of mine though, and not full-blown insight, thus why I didn't post on the review page. I think it's a good idea you raised the issue overall though. Xanarki (talk) 00:13, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
Thanks @Xanarki: and apologies for the delay in responding. You're absolutely right. At the time of promotion, there was a short paragraph about the album's more mixed reviews (2nd paragraph, beginning "Some reviews were more critical…"). At some point, the paragraph was removed entirely, but I don't have time right now to go through the history to see why.
Please feel free to mention this at the review. Critical bias is definitely something the coordinators would like to know about when closing. I really should have picked up on this prior to nominating, but I was tired and figured the issues I'd already discovered were sufficient. Plus, I've just now realized that a decent chunk of "Critical reception" spends more time discussing the "video game" than the actual album/music. Issues for another day, perhaps. Oh well. Happy editing! =) Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 21:19, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
