I am not entirely familiar with the whole process, but this article was converted from a redirect and expanded about ten-fold during the preceding week, so i am applying it for DYK nomination. • Adequate sourcing: - The article includes user-generated sources (example) and unbylined Indian news articles (example, example, example). One link is a 404 page that has never been archived. Several citations just say MSN, but they are different sources that happen to be republished on MSN's website. These citations need to be properly composed. A "citation needed" tag remains in the article, and I can't tell if the source listed there backs up the claim because it is paywalled.
• Neutral:
• Free of copyright violations, plagiarism, and close paraphrasing: - Copyvio Detector turns up instances of close paraphrasing, for example from this source.
• Other problems: - The lead section is too short to summarize the entire article as it stands. That said, the article is probably too long. It delves into unnecessary detail with all the tables. Per WP:NOTNEWS, the tables and the play-by-play should be replaced with a WP:SUMMARYSTYLE account of the operation. The article needs to be copyedited for grammar and style.

Hook eligibility:

• Cited: - If it's backed up by The Hindu, I can't tell since that source is paywalled. The Times Now source includes the claim in a subhed, not in the article itself. Times Now is yellow on WP:RSP and the inclusion of an AI-generated image does not lend credibility to the source.
• Interesting:
• Other problems: - The hook is unclear as written. The largest number of ships vis a vis what exactly? Versus other countries, versus other conflict events in the region? I suggest a new hook be supplied for review.

• The article hasn't been edited by the nominator in a week and a half, despite a ping reminder, and the problems pointed out by the reviewer are serious; I think it's best to mark this for closure, given how bad the backlog is at the moment. theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 11:04, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
