Is there any record of how many students of the university lived in Oxford? It would be interesting to know what proportion of the student population the up to 63 university dead from the riots would have been if possible in those early years of the university's existence, in the wake of the Black Death too.Cloptonson (talk) 08:55, 10 February 2026 (UTC)

Apologies for any apparent lack of courtesy but I have since been busy with a move between temporary housing (necessitated by continuing renovations at my 'permanent' home caused by a traumatic plumbing disaster). I don't see much point in me doing anything in the article as it is clear to me that the proportion of the dead was miniscule in relation to the university population - I leave the choice to you. The proportion is neither here nor there. Sixty-three people were killed. Should we say it doesn’t matter how many were killed on 9/11 because the proportion of the dead was minuscule in relation to NY’s population or that of the US? It's about 1 in 25, which is hardly a minuscule proportion. As killings go, that's a huge proportion of the student body. If it were nowadays it'd be about 1,000. DuncanHill (talk) 19:46, 14 February 2026 (UTC)

The MOS clearly states at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Capital letters#Titles of people that the word "king" should not be capitalized when not directly juxtaposed with the king's name (e.g. for "King Edward", but not for "the king").
