This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

I've been doing a bit to flesh out/tidy up the Grade I listed buildings in Oxford list. The good news is that every entry is now bluelinked, either to a standalone article, or to a sub-section within another article. The immediate outstanding issue is that we are missing about a dozen images. The majority are of particular sections of college quadrangles. They should be relatively easy to source if:

(a) - an editor has access to said colleges;

(b) - said editor knows at which bit of the quadrangle wall they should point their camera/phone.

There are also a few, more obscure, bits of the city walls and one or two others. If any editors meet the criteria above, I'd greatly appreciate images to fill any of the gaps. KJP1 (talk) 11:28, 7 August 2025 (UTC)

They look good. And I think I now know how to put a Notes column in. On the subject of images, I've recently added this, Christ Church Mercury Fountain, but our selection of images is not the strongest. Neither is that on Geograph. This will likely be because you have to be a member of Christ Church to get anywhere near it as Tom Quad's not publicly accessible. Does anyone know a member of Christ Church who might oblige? TSventon / Jonathan A Jones - After a long delay, I've finally finished the Notes section of Grade I listed buildings in Oxford. It will need some polishing, but I think it is close to FLC standard. We're also pretty well placed on images, missing only four; the St Catz gym which, despite Jonathan's best efforts, we can't get because of RAAC, and three bits of wall which we'll probably never get due to inaccesibility. If either of you had time to give it a quick once-over, that would be very much appreciated. The problem with editing one article for a sustained period is that you do get blind as to errors. No problem if not. I shall push it forward to FLC and reviewers will likely spot anything I may have missed. Many thanks indeed for your help in getting the article to its present state. I think that Catz has finally got on top of their RAAC issues, so I was planning to wander down there in April to see how far in I can get now. The remaining walls also shouldn't be impossible: Bastion 4 wil be the hardest but I think I have seen it once (from the Jesus College annexe AFAIR) so it can't be completely inaccessible. KJP1, as you saw, I made some uncontroversial copy edits to the notes on the college buildings. I have also tweaked the wording for St John's and Trinity to say they were new foundations in 1555 which used the buildings of dissolved monastic colleges, I hope that was reasonable. I think you were using Pevsner as a source and he obviously focuses on the buildings. I think a reviewer may query the capitalisation of words like chapel, hall, library and quad, but you could negotiate that at the time. TSventon (talk) 01:31, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

Catz is still full of building work, but I realised that there is a reasonable view of the gymnasium from Addison's Walk, although it is quite obscured by trees. I have now added photos for two of the missing wall sections. During my wanderings I discovered that Bastion 16 is actually in New College, not in St Edmund Hall as the source claims, though you can see the south side from St Edmund Hall. I will leave handling that to wiser heads. The last remaining missing picture is Bastion 4, and here the very helpful webpage at convinces me that I have in fact seen it before at least twice. I have links into Jesus College which should be able to get me in to take a picture, as I doubt just pushing past signs will work well in this case. In fact I'm faurly sure that I did take a picture of it about 20 years ago, but locating that might be tricky. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 11:32, 8 April 2026 (UTC)

Picture of Bastion 4 should be sorted in mid to late May, when my contact and I will both be in Oxford. For Bastion 16 the current photo shows the New College compost heap which is built inside it; the low wall on the right is the boundary with St Edmund Hall, while the high wall on the upper right is the "Wall south of Bastion 16". The official entry says "CITY WALL 1. 1485 In St Edmund Hall Bastion 16" but the map shows it clearly to be on the New College side of the New College/St Edmund Hall boundary. I tried looking up the references given but none of them seem helpful, all being either general or detailed about other parts of the wall, not this one. Delighted this is finally complete, and good luck with the next stage! If you want to see Bastion 4 you will absolutely need a member of Jesus College to let you past the many locked doors. It is situated in a tiny courtyard at the back of the Ship Street Centre so you will need a wide angle lens to take any pictures (mine was 0.5x on an iPhone 15). Note that the door to the courtyard locks as you enter; we managed to escape via a side route but be careful, or leave a friend inside the centre to let you back in. You can see part of it from inside the centre (see my other picture in the final section of Buildings of Jesus College, Oxford) but you don't get a good feel except from the courtyard.
