GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

  1. Is it well written?
    A. The prose is clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct:
    B. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation:
I checked all the sources and everything looks good except for these notes below. Please fix these issues.
  2. Is it verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check?
    A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:
    B. Reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose):
    C. It contains no original research:
    • Please confirm that the 17th source supports the claim that "According to the Kalma tourism guide map, there are six large hotels, 37 motels (ryeogwan), and ten large unnamed buildings serving as accommodation facilities.", as I can't access the article myself. Also "map" doesn't need to be wiki linked.
    • The sentence "The beach is one of the main attractions of the complex." needs to have a citation.
    • I don't see where motels are mentioned in source 13. Could you point out where they are mentioned? If not, please update it with a new source that does talk about the motels.
    • While the 21st source does reference the water park at the resort, it doesn't mention the Munsu Water Park. The article must include a source that also references the Munsu Water Park stating that the Myongsasimni Water Park is one of two water parks in North Korea other than the Munsu Water Park.
    • (Also, it is preferred that the acronym "DPRK" is replaced with "North Korea" so people who don't know what DPRK stands for beforehand could understand it.)
All issues fixed here
  1. D. It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:
    • The sentence " Kim Jong Un personally cut the ribbon on a new resort hailed by state media as a "national treasure-level tourism city" copies the phrasing of the CNN citation almost exactly. Please rewrite the sentence so it doesn't copy the citation. Please see WP:Close paraphrasing and WP:Plagiarism for more info.
All issues fixed here
  1. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. It addresses the main aspects of the topic:
    B. It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style):
  2. Is it neutral?
It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each:
  3. Is it stable?
It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute:
  4. Is it illustrated, if possible, by images?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content:
    B. Images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
  5. Overall: Pass or Fail:
I will give the nominator some time to fix these issues. If they are not fixed in a reasonable amount of time (2ish weeks), I will fail the article. If this happens, please fix all the issues then submit for review again. If you have questions, feel free to ask. (That is what a reviewer is for, after all!)
I am proud to say that this article is now a Good Article! Congrats!
  1. Extra Notes
(This is not necessary for this article to become a GA, but it is something to note).
The Wonsan Tram isn't needed in the See Also section, as it is already mentioned and linked to in it's own section.
All issues fixed here

I have added a real source to the "According to the Kalma tourism guide map, there are six large hotels, 37 motels (ryeogwan), and ten large unnamed buildings serving as accommodation facilities." claim.
I removed the "The beach is one of the main attractions of the complex" claim as I couldn't find a source.
I also removed the Munsu Water Park claim as I couldn't provide a source for it. TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 07:23, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
I also rewrote the

What do I have to do now, Please explain TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 17:05, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
Well Source 13 says
In February 2026, Chinese ambassador to North Korea Wang Yajun led a delegation to the resort, raising hopes that Chinese tourists will be able to visit the zone, which remains closed to most foreign travelers.
not about motels.
Source 16 says about motels TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 17:08, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
i'm sorry, I meant source 12 for the sentence "In addition to the main hotels, the resort contains a number of motels (ryeogwan), which serve as lower-cost lodging options". Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 17:10, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
Yes check source 16.
source 12 is the source for In July 2025, the resort was chosen as the location for meetings between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Kim Jong Un. TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 17:11, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
motels are mentioned in source 16 and i have placed it as a source.

Hi TheGreatEditor024, I notice "It was opened to tourists in July 2025" and details of the suspension of foreign travel after opening are twice cited in the lead to a 2014 news article. Can you attach the correct source inline? Whonting (talk) 07:08, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

Sorry bro, I didnt understand your message. Like how can a 2014 source show a 2025 resort. Let me check. TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 07:25, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
Did you mean, the description. TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 07:26, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
Sorry bro, I understood what you meant, I am removing that source.THIS ONE TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 07:28, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

Earwig brings up a page that seems to have copied this one. However, there are some areas that need rewording. These include "The KCNA later released photographs..." and "According to the Kalma tourism guide map...". This latter sentence also seems redundant to the later subsection?
The sentence/section "The resort forms part of a broader effort by the North Korean government to develop Wonsan into a major tourism hub on the country's east coast" does not seem supported by the source, which talks about coastal areas in general rather than just Wonsan.
Hook is interesting and checks out, so article just needs the small fixes mentioned above. CMD (talk) 05:59, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I have re-wrote and added a source to the statement "The resort forms part of a broader effort by the North Korean government to develop Wonsan into a major tourism hub on the country's east coast". About the The KCNA later released photographs..." and "According to the Kalma tourism guide map statement, I don't find what's wrong in it. I'd appreicate if you explained it. Did you mean to remove the "According to the Kalma tourism guide map statement.I have removed it. TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 06:35, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

The sentences are WP:Close paraphrasing of their sources. "The KCNA later released photographs showing Kim Jong Un inspecting the resort’s facilities with his daughter Kim Ju Ae ahead of its planned opening"/"State media has released a series of photos showing the country's supreme leader Kim Jong Un inspecting the facilities with his daughter Kim Ju Ae". "There are six large hotels, 37 motels (also known as ryeogwan), and ten large unnamed buildings which serves as accommodation facilities"/"there are six large hotels, 37 motels (Ryeogwan), and ten large unnamed buildings serving as accommodation facilities". CMD (talk) 07:42, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

Done, I have corrected the issue. TheGreatEditor024 (talk) 08:03, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

Changing one or two words doesn't fix the issue. I recommend breaking the basic facts down into brief bullets, and writing a new sentence from scratch. Please also check the new coastal sentence. CMD (talk) 09:14, 22 April 2026 (UTC)
@TheGreatEditor024: Been just over a month since last update, any progress on this? theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 22:22, 25 May 2026 (UTC)

Nah bro, I am a bit busy on another DYK nomination. And I just completed Class 12, so I have a lot to do. so, I am withdrawing this nomination.TheGreatEditor024 (talk), 26 May 2026 (UTC)
