Civility
You were asking at ANI for the rule applicable to others. See WP:REMOVEUNCIVIL: In the event of rudeness or incivility on the part of another editor, it may be appropriate to discuss the offending words with that editor, and to request that editor to change that specific wording. Some care is necessary, however, so as not to further inflame the situation. It is not normally appropriate to edit or remove another editor's comment. Exceptions include to remove obvious trolling or vandalism, or if the comment is on your own user talk page. Derogatory comments about another contributor may be removed by any editor.
Thanks for carrying the stick. —Bagumba (talk) 04:06, 23 February 2025 (UTC)

Really?
A few days off needed.
I saw this: https://www.foxnews.com/media/wikipedia-editors-attempted-delete-charlotte-murder-article-removed-suspects-name-from-entry-report earlier today and I still can't let it go. I'd rather not make things miserable for some people. Believe me, I do know the way this site leans .. but really?
The Charlotte mayor should be happy ... because if I was on that train, I'd make Daniel Penny look like a fucking altar boy. See you later. Bringingthewood (talk) 03:35, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- Maybe a few more days! R.I.P. -- Charlie Kirk. Sleep well, you fucking assholes! P.S. Thank God I have a few good friends here, or you might have to make a page for me. Bringingthewood (talk) 20:53, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
I still think I'm allowed to vent on my own talk page. That being said, looking at the political userbox selection the other day .. I saw a lot generated by User:Buaidh. I think what bothers me is that a good friend of mine, about a year ago, wanted to join and purposely bash Obama and Biden by way of the userboxes. After I told him he would be shot down, and we know that's the truth, I told him not to do it, take the high road. Turns out, by the looks of it, I was the real asshole in that conversation. Let's try to remember, this is our current president. Good or bad, I hope we at least acknowledge that. Like one of those idiotic boxes states .. I bow to no King, lol. Remember, in time we all pay for what we do. Bringingthewood (talk) 01:35, 23 April 2026 (UTC)
There's a never forget userbox for 9/11/01, and .. let's strike up the band, one for 1/6/21. At the risk of repeating myself, it's the comedy that keeps me going. RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! Bringingthewood (talk) 00:01, 6 May 2026 (UTC)

Was going to joke that it's your conspiracy to rack up edits, but you weren't the one who unlinked it before. —Bagumba (talk) 04:31, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Bagumba Lol, I was hoping my remark would bring you to that part of the history. No rack up here, at least not purposely. I'm still paying for my link removal sins. Most of my college fixes now are for not seeing the 'football team' link earlier. Example: C. J. Hanson. John. Bringingthewood (talk) 04:43, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- My pet peeve is something like
Hanson at [[Holy Cross Crusaders football|Holy Cross]]... a football program is not an "at <location>" (though I'm paying more attention to the lead's prose, not caption) —Bagumba (talk) 05:38, 12 November 2025 (UTC)- @Bagumba I thought that way originally, that's why I was going with the University etc. Then I saw about two dozen with the football program. Not an "at", I agree. Maybe I should leave the program links to "with the", being that I don't pay too much attention. :/ Bringingthewood (talk) 05:53, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- What you did at Hanson was fine. So "with the" in the lead/infobox, and maybe "at" in the body to introduce the actual school e.g. "at
Holy Cross UniversityCollege of the Holy Cross ". —Bagumba (talk) 05:58, 12 November 2025 (UTC)- @Bagumba I felt good there for a second, but 'body' and 'introducing' .. not good for me to tinker with that. I'm all for staying with the NFL. Hell, I've never even watched a whole college game .. someone else can do that stuff, lol. P.S. The last time I watched a whole quarter, "Hail Flutie", need I say more? Bringingthewood (talk) 06:11, 12 November 2025 (UTC)

- @Bagumba I hear that. Saturday has a bigger television schedule than NFL Sunday! Yeah, I just depressed myself by checking out the year of that game. Time for sleep .. we'll speak again soon. Enjoy the rest of your week! John. Bringingthewood (talk) 06:37, 12 November 2025 (UTC)

Bread Truck
First I ever heard of it, but I guess it's legit. Is "Chuckster" really vandalism though (I'm more familiar with that one) —Bagumba (talk) 06:16, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- Bagumba I never heard of it either. Funny you said that, after I entered it, I knew it wasn't vandalism, I was just correcting a sock that was blocked (11/1 edit). It started off easy, just wanted to make the T lower case ... then I saw the name changed completely .. then I saw they were blocked. Well, it started to roll, lol. Bringingthewood (talk) 06:26, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- If I get reverted --- I'm blaming you, lol. Bringingthewood (talk) 06:31, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- No prob. I usually don't edit too much with nicknames. There's really no consistency with what gets listed or not. Maybe we just add all of his lol. I was just curious about your choice. —Bagumba (talk) 06:38, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- Bagumba Wow, now that's vandalism. They should remove about a half dozen of those names. Honestly, I didn't choose at all. Being that it was rated a good article, I figured someone must have wanted them there for a reason. Your choice is a good one, and it's in the top 3 on that list, lol. Bringingthewood (talk) 06:56, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- Sports Reference goes overboard with nicknames. Take a look at Tom Brady. No one calls him "Tom Terrific, Touchdown Tom, GOAT, The Pharaoh, Comeback Kid or Sir". He's never really had a nickname. The only one that should really even be there is "TB12", and it's the first one listed. TB12 still isn't widespread enough for his Wikipedia intro though. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 15:01, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- WikiOriginal-9 We also had a couple of good ones. That's why I kept that 'Crazy' section on my talk page, lol. Bringingthewood (talk) 22:25, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9 Maybe the same people that edit List of nicknames in basketball. —Bagumba (talk) 22:45, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

Rollback
Hi, I've granted you rollbacker. Given your experience, temperament, and P&G knowledge, I see no reason not to trust you with the right, which can help revert vandalism and other types of disruption more efficiently when patrolling articles and recent changes. Feel free to read up on WP:Rollback if desired. Good luck. Left guide (talk) 04:46, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Left guide Thank you for your trust and I'll definitely read up on it. Very much appreciated. Bringingthewood (talk) 05:00, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
T. J. Watt
@Left guide Yes, very much so. I'd trade in 100K edits for it, lol. I did mention it in passing, nothing concrete, to WO-9 and Josh over time, basically for other people with knowledge with GA's to make it better. Their help was very much appreciated. I'm not good with the ins and outs of setting up a good page. I'm very stat oriented. Grammar, structure, punctuation, not so much. That status would mean more to me than any personal gain. Bringingthewood (talk) 01:23, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
- The GA criteria are laid out at (naturally) WP:Good article criteria. For an article this size, I'm thinking the big hill to climb to prep for GA review is ensuring the sources are reliable. We can replace citations to questionable or unreliable sources with better ones. Bagumba and I previously did some research and documentation of source reliability at WP:NBASOURCES, and there seems to be quite a bit of overlap there with sources also in the Watt article. FWIW, I find Bagumba to be very astute at assessing the reliability of sports sources. For grammar, structure, and punctuation, I wouldn't worry about it too much since it seems like low-priority for GA reviewers; that said, I can probably do a copy edit sweep at some point. As someone who seems very knowledgeable about the topic, I'm curious as to how well you think the article meets the other criteria. Left guide (talk) 05:52, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Left guide I do believe every source is correct/reliable regarding Watt's page. I can tell you, no lie, his stats are, I've followed him since 2017. I do give you a big thanks for even asking me about this. I'll be honest, as I always try to be, I look at Tom Brady's article for example and other top-notch players that look like .. maybe their status is 'good' .. not the case. But a thug like Vontaze Burfict is. He's not a noteworthy player, but maybe he has a well-written article. I can be diplomatic with the best of them. This is why I never presented it in the first place, some players may need to meet certain criteria. I will try to help in any way possible from here on out. Regards, John. Bringingthewood (talk) 08:23, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
- Now I see that even if sources are reliable, there may be some better ones out there for the taking. Live and learn. Going out on a limb here, but I'm thinking the neutrality, stability and illustration are aiming in the right direction. Bringingthewood (talk) 04:43, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- I appreciate all the fixes/additions, LG. (I'm guessing a ping isn't needed here). My computer has Vista and nothing is supported. I just lost pro-football-reference recently, which is a big hit. Even some of the references that are on Watt's page I can hardly read on my side. At least I know others can. This is why I asked for help in case it was close to achieving GA status. I'm a lazy bastard, but if I lose Wikipedia access .. that will be the time for a new computer. ;) Thanks again. Bringingthewood (talk) 22:49, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- No problem. Btw, if this passes, the article would be eligible to appear in the "Did You Know" section of the Main Page for a day. If you're up for it, is there a quirky or interesting fact about Watt you can think of that can be cited? IIRC, Bagumba and WikiOriginal-9 have done dozens to hundreds of these (so they might be able to advise/assist further), and I've only done a small handful, though all three of us have experience with the process. It's overall pretty simple though imo. Left guide (talk) 23:48, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- The only interesting fact that I found out was when he and J. J. made the cover of the Wheaties box (Derek's on the back). I never added that to the article. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/t-j-and-j-j-watt-make-history-as-the-first-brothers-to-share-the-cover-of-a-wheaties-box/ Maybe 'cereal unworthy'. :/ Bringingthewood (talk) 00:30, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, being promoted to GA qualifies for WP:DYKNEW. Then you can WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS and school everyone about that award they won't allow on his infobox. —Bagumba (talk) 00:00, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- Lol, I know you didn't mean that. Because me schooling someone would mean I had to know what I'm talking about. Bringingthewood (talk) 00:30, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

"I'm guessing when a 'featured' article is put up, you need to give blood!"
That's probably what it would feel like. Hence why even I have never done it. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 16:57, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
About the T. J. Watt review
I just saw your comment over at User talk:Left guide. Just to assure you, I'll never tell someone to fix something they're unable to. I can only know that if I'm informed of it by you saying it in the review page or on my talk page, so you don't need to worry, I won't bite you down for it or something like that. And I absolutely don't mind if someone else, who isn't the nominator, is leaving more comments than you. The more the help, the better and faster the review will go by, no? And so far, you've been more than capable in resolving issues being brought up in the review page, so you genuinely don't have to worry. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 07:09, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Hacked I appreciate all that you said. The reason I didn't go to the review page first, basically was my knack for leaving a short story to get my point across. I'll definitely use those options going forward. Help by other editors was greatly needed, and I'm glad you didn't frown on that. I don't like computers, but I like Wikipedia, something has to give. Btw, the giving of blood comment I made earlier was done tongue-in-cheek. But I do believe FA reviews would be a total nightmare. Well, thanks again for all that you're doing. See you soon. See
See this is why we don't mark players as free agents before it actually happens. Geno Smith just got traded. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 18:29, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- And I heard that Maxx Crosby won't, lol! Bringingthewood (talk) 00:12, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

New article needed?
Should I create a Plan B free agency article in place of the redirect? Dafootballguy | Want to talk? 23:50, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Dafootballguy Hi there. I can't really say yes or no, it would be better to ask a more experienced editor. A couple of them will drop by and help me out on my talk page from time to time. Maybe we'll luck out. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:00, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Should I ping some of the ones I have interacted with? Dafootballguy | Want to talk? 02:02, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Dafootballguy That's a good idea. Good luck going forward! Bringingthewood (talk) 02:10, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Yankees10@Left guide can you comment if an article is needed? Thank you. Dafootballguy | Want to talk? 01:58, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Dafootballguy You might want to start some correspondence from your page also. This way you'll have it for future reference if needed, and it'll save them pinging you. I'll keep this message here for a while just in case you get an answer soon. Good luck, again. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:12, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- I've subscribed to this tread so I don't need a ping. Thanks for your help. Dafootballguy | Want to talk? 21:47, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
