New pages patrol January–February 2026 Backlog drive

January–February 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol

New Pages Patrol is hosting a one-time, two-month experimental backlog drive aimed at reducing the backlog. This will be a combo drive: both articles and redirects will earn points.

  • The drive will run from 1 January to 28 February 2026.
  • The drive is divided into two phases. Participants may take part in either phase or across both phases, depending on availability.
  • Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled during the drive.
  • Two-month drive-exclusive barnstars will be awarded to eligible participants.
  • Each article review earns 1 point, while each redirect review earns 0.2 points.
  • Streak awards will be granted based on consistently meeting weekly point thresholds.
  • Barnstars will also be awarded for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.
  • Interested in participating? Sign up here.

Introducing deprecated parameters at Anupam Mittal

Hello, @CharlieMehta. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In this edit, you're adding deprecated parameter as you did at Anupam Mittal, but I've removed for now. —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 02:22, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

@KuyaMoHirowo Thank you for helping me with it. When I restored the article to the best available neutral version, I may have reinstalled the deprecated parameters. Charlie (talk) 02:27, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

No need to sign WikiProject banners

Hi CharlieMehta. There is no need to sign an edit that places WikiProject banners or other similar administrative templates on a talk page, like you did on Draft talk:ABG Shipyard loan fraud. WikiProject banners and other similar administrative templates at the top of a talk page are not "posts" that require a time-stamped signature as they do not get replied to. See WP:SIGNHERE for guidance about when to sign, and not sign, additions to talk pages. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 10:07, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

@Cameron Dewe Thank you for helping me with it. Charlie (talk) 10:22, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

2026 Western Iraq mid-air collision moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to 2026 Western Iraq mid-air collision. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and more sources that confirm that it was a mid-air collision. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Aviationwikiflight (talk) 16:21, 14 March 2026 (UTC)

That’s absolutely fine. I had also been wondering how the page ended up being edited after it was launched. I originally created it as ‘2026 USAF KC-135 Iraq Crash,’ but the title was later changed by another editor. I didn’t object at the time, and I won’t object now either. You made a reasonable decision, and you have my support. Charlie (talk) 16:32, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
Just submitted it for a review. Charlie (talk) 16:34, 14 March 2026 (UTC)

Feedback
The reviewer, Pbritti, left the following feedback:
This draft's references do not show that the event meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for events. The draft requires multiple published secondary sources that:
  • provide significant coverage: discuss the event in detail, not just brief mentions or routine announcements;
  • show lasting significance: analysis published after the initial breaking news has passed, showing historical impact;
  • are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
  • are independent: not connected to the event, such as press releases, the event or organizers own website, or sponsored content.
Please add references that meet all four of these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.
Looking at this crash in relation to the ongoing 2026 Iran war and coverage made within the Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker, I'm disinclined to consider this sufficiently notable as an independent subject at the moment. If we find that coverage of this event is sustained over the coming months—possibly as the result of an an potentially impactful investigation or due to new details being released—then we can reconsider promoting this as a standalone article. Until then, continue adding mentions of the event to relevant articles.
