April 2026

Hi, I think you need to read this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion#Procedure_for_non-administrator_close_(nominator_withdrawal) MSalmon (talk) 10:22, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

@Msalmon - Thank you for sending this to me. I hope I have done it correctly now. Thanks and have a great day! Mariamnei (talk) 12:06, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
Yes that's fine now, also there was a comment in the discussion from another user about the use of WP:BEFORE (which I think means that checking for sources before nominating an AfD) MSalmon (talk) 12:20, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

Notifying article creators

here you notified User:ජපස of concerns about the Charlie King page - however ජපස created the page as a DAB page, which was later redirected to another DAB page, with a TA then creating the page for the American Football player which you had concerns about over the redirect (therefore avoiding all that tedious business with AfC or having non-database references that demonstate notability) - therefore you probably should have notified User:~2026-86493-1 instead of/as well as ජපස.Nigel Ish (talk) 09:07, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

@Nigel Ish - Thank you for pointing this out to me. I try to check the history but seem to have missed it here. Either way, the version has been reverted, so I don't see a need to User:~2026-86493-1. Have a great day! Mariamnei (talk) 11:42, 9 April 2026 (UTC)

Promotion of Diaspora Revolt

Congratulations, Mariamnei! The article you nominated, Diaspora Revolt, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best articles on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured article. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Gog the Mild (talk) via FACBot (talk) 23:06, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

LLM output in Heliodorus stele

I see you've been active following a ping at WP:ERRORS regarding LLM output inserted into the article (and missed by a few of us in our reviews); after your most recent edits you've been pinged at Template:Did you know nominations/Heliodorus stele. Please join the conversation at the nomination page; if you don't, the nomination is likely to be closed as rejected because editors will not know the extent and nature of LLM use in the article. Thanks! Dclemens1971 (talk) 14:18, 16 April 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Dclemens1971, thanks for the heads up! I must have missed this. I'll comment there in a moment. Mariamnei (talk) 05:52, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

Your TFA/R nomination

It's too early. We need to schedule another three weeks first. It should be within a week. Then you can transclude it again. Please note the instructions. Wehwalt (talk) 13:21, 20 April 2026 (UTC)

I've now restored it since we're up to that date. Wehwalt (talk) 19:25, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

Tagging if Rainer Borriss

I noticed that you tagged Rainer Borriss questioning a pass of WP:NPROF. I found that a bit odd as his citations are strong, so I removed it. IMO he would easily survive AfD. As part of my NPP review I did remove several very minor and unsourced items listed under awards, and also tagged it as resume-like. Ldm1954 (talk) 09:36, 23 April 2026 (UTC)

@Ldm1954 - Sorry I somehow missed this message. I looked at the article again and the only thing that makes me think it would pass WP:NPROF is the National Prize of the GDR in Science and Technology. The other citations are to articles he himself wrote. But if you think it passes, I will trust your judgement. Mariamnei (talk) 11:18, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
His citation record in GS is pretty strong. Some of the top papers are team efforts, so those are less clear; on at least the 2nd and 4th he is the last author which indicates a major role. He has a decent number of other papers with less authors. You are right that the sources are almost all his, so a Third-party tag is appropriate and I just added it. DYK for Heliodorus stele

On 24 April 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Heliodorus stele, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Heliodorus stele is an independent source for an episode previously known only from 2 Maccabees? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Heliodorus stele. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Heliodorus stele), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

NPP question

Hello! I am new to NPP and I noticed that sometimes you will tag pages and leave talk page comments, but you will not mark the page as 'reviewed'. I am wondering if you do this on purpose with pages that are not necessarily 'good to go' and need some work, but also not terrible enough to delete or draftify? Since I am new to reviewing I just want to make sure I am following what others are doing, so I thought I would ask. I appreciate the help! FiddleheadLady (talk) 01:53, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

@FiddleheadLady - Welcome to NPP and thank you for writing to me. I usually will only mark as "reviewed" if it's 'good to go' or very close (such as a minor comment that wouldn't really prevent the page from being marked as reviewed either way). I think other reviewers may have slightly lower standards for when to mark as reviewed (possibly as long as the page passes on a more basic level), so feel free to ask around. Have a great day! Mariamnei (talk) 09:54, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
@Mariamnei This is helpful to know - thank you!! FiddleheadLady (talk) 00:37, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

BLAR'ed an article you reviewed

Hi Mariamnei, I wanted to reach out and tell you that I WP:BLAR'ed Lucia Simonelli to direct to 2026 United States House of Representatives elections in Pennsylvania. The article lacked notability, and was mainly supported by local media or other campaign materials. The main point of notability is that Simonelli is running for an election whose primary has not even occurred yet. The last AfD was a month ago, and little has changed since then. In addition to that, what appears to be a CoI also impacted the article.

I want to notify you for the sake of clarity, as you reviewed the article at NPP. If you disagree, feel free to revert my action and we can take this to AfD instead.

Cheers, GGOTCC 16:56, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

@GGOTCC - Thank you for writing to me. There seem to have been quite a few independent sources about the candidate, so I thought it met the last clause of WP:NPOL that "such people can still be notable if they meet the general notability guideline". Can you explain what I am missing here? Thanks and have a great day! Mariamnei (talk) 07:22, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

Baloo

Hi Mariamnei. Thanks for your work. Your review of Baloo (company) is a little concering. Please go through WP:TRADES and WP:ORGTRIV as standard of requirement for companies is quite high. Also, the article you reviewed is full of affiliate marketing links. Please review company articles only if coverage is focused on it. Affiliate marketing links of products are never useful. Thanks, ~2026-26103-65 (talk) 00:14, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

@~2026-26103-65 - While the tone might be slightly promotional, I don't see a major problem with the sources. A review in NY Times is significant. I honestly don't think it fails notability, but feel free to put up for a vote. Mariamnei (talk) 06:17, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

DYK for Claudia Aster inscription

On 9 May 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Claudia Aster inscription, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a funerary inscription from Campania commemorates a Jerusalem-born woman, likely enslaved during the First Jewish–Roman War, who died at the age of 25? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Claudia Aster inscription. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Claudia Aster inscription), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Page Review Request

Hello @Mariamnei :) Hope you're having a good day. You reviewed one of my articles recently and suggested few improvements, thank you for that. I wanted to check if you'd be able to review an article I wrote about Harmann Kaur, a famous stylist in India. It has been there for more than 5 months. Can you check and let me know if any improvements are required on that article? Thank you IcedKoffee (talk) 10:51, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

@IcedKoffee - Done. Have a good day! Mariamnei (talk) 11:11, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

For future reference

G'day. When patrolling pages for notability (WP:GNG) under WP:NGEO features scope, consider Wikipedia:GEOFEAT intro section - first and second para:

Artificial geographical features that are officially assigned the status of cultural heritage or national heritage, or of any other protected status on a national level and for which verifiable information beyond simple statistics is available, are presumed to be notable.

Thanks, ౪ Santa ౪99° 19:49, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

@Santasa99 - Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Have a good day! Mariamnei (talk) 12:06, 14 May 2026 (UTC)

DYK for Temezda

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

2024 and 2025 NPP Awards

JTtheOG was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.

Hey man im josh and MPGuy2824 won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

January–February backlog drive

The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.

May backlog drive

An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026.

PageTriage

An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket if you're interested in following along.

Thank you for your message about Jonathan Andic. However, if you look at the page history, I only created it as a redirect, in December 2024. The article is the work of RedZay7. Edwardx (talk) 11:31, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
